Sen. Ted Cruz Puts Martha’s Vineyard ‘Crisis’ in Perspective: ‘15,000 Haitian Illegal Immigrants’ Entered Del Rio in One Day

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) put some much-needed perspective on the influx of migrants into Martha’s Vineyard this week, noting that 15,000 illegal immigrants from Haiti entered Del Rio, Texas, in a single day.

Ever since Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) flew 50 migrants to the wealthy liberal enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Democrats have been calling the situation a “humanitarian crisis,” while accusing the governor of using human beings as pawns in a game of political chess.

“It is cruel to treat human beings like pawns in a political game. He has reached a new low,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said of DeSantis.

“Exploiting vulnerable people for political stunts is repulsive and cruel. Massachusetts is fully capable of handling asylum seekers, and I’ll keep working with local, state, and federal partners to ensure we have the necessary resources to care for people with dignity,” she also tweeted.

Martha’s Vineyard homeless shelter coordinator, Lisa Belcastro, lamented to reporters that the island does not have the facilities to house the migrants despite the fact that some of America’s wealthiest elites own multi-million-dollar vacation homes that are empty most of the year.

“At some point in time they have to move from here to somewhere else,” she told reporters. “We don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants. We certainly don’t have housing. We’re in a housing crisis as we are on this island, so we can’t house everyone here that lives here and works here. We don’t have housing for 50 more people.”

In a tweet on Wednesday, Ted Cruz explained how 15,000 migrants (not 50) flooded into Del Rio, Texas, in a single day.

“Folks on Martha’s Vineyard are describing the burdens from 50 illegal immigrants. To put that in perspective, the small town of Del Rio, TX has about 30,000 residents. I was there when 15,000 Haitian illegal immigrants were crossing in to Del Rio IN A SINGLE DAY. 15,000 > 50” he tweeted.

Island officials have since called the influx of 50 migrants a “humanitarian crisis.”

Exclusive Document Indicates Special Counsel Failing To Bring Collusion Hoaxers To Justice

John Durham’s team has known of these discrepancies for years but has failed to hold responsible those who used the CIA to target a political opponent with false smears.

whitepaper obtained first by The Federalist suggests Special Counsel John Durham botched the investigation of a second Russia collusion hoax, the one concerning Yota cellphones.

In a scandal linked to the Spygate operation, Hillary Clinton cronies peddled to the CIA fake evidence they claimed established Donald Trump and his associates were using the Russian-made Yota cellphones in the vicinity of the White House and other key locations. The news of this operation broke during the special counsel’s prosecution of former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann. However, the just-obtained Yota whitepaper that was supposed to undergird Sussmann’s claims differs substantially from the memoranda documenting what Sussmann supposedly said to the CIA.

Durham’s team has known of these discrepancies for years but has failed to hold responsible those who used the CIA to target a political opponent and the then-president of the United States with false smears of corruption with a foreign power. Now with the news that the special counsel’s office has let the grand jury expire, suggesting a winding down of the investigation, Durham’s failure to seek charges related to the Yota phone hoax is appalling. Durham offered the only apparent opportunity for justice in this entire collection of major scandals.

Sussmann Trial Unveiled Another Collusion Hoax

One year ago, almost to the day, Durham charged Sussmann with one count of lying to the then-FBI general counsel James Baker. According to the indictment, during a September 19, 2016, meeting with Baker, Sussmann provided the FBI’s general counsel information that purported to show the existence of a secret communication channel between the Trump organization and the Russian Alfa Bank.

“The indictment charged that Sussmann told Baker during that meeting that he was not working on behalf of any client, when, according to the indictment, Sussmann was actually acting on behalf of ‘a U.S. technology industry executive at a U.S. Internet company’—later identified as Rodney Joffe—and ‘the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign.’”

While a jury acquitted Sussmann of the charged offense, the prosecution of the former Clinton campaign lawyer revealed several previously...

Biden Admin Awards $80 Million Contract That Prohibits GPS Monitoring Of Illegal Immigrants

Experts say system will make it impossible to keep track of migrants released into US

The Biden administration is spending nearly $80 million on a new system to monitor illegal immigrants that prohibits the use of any GPS technology, a decision that experts say will make it impossible to locate their whereabouts after their release into the United States.

The system, according to government records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, is meant to track illegal immigrants via monthly check-ins via phone. Migrants released into the U.S. interior aged 18-19 are eligible for the program. Any GPS monitoring that would give exact locations, such as ankle monitor tracking, is explicitly forbidden, according to the contract.

"This sort of thing is popular among the left. It sounds great but the reality is that people in these programs will likely never be [deported]," former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Ron Vitiello told the Free Beacon. "There's nothing at the end of these programs. If they don't report in, that's that. They're now a fugitive."

The new program for illegal immigrants contradicts claims from the Biden administration that the federal government is investing in sophisticated monitoring programs for illegal immigrants during the worst border crisis in U.S. history. When Republican lawmakers criticized the White House over reports in April that immigration authorities were providing cell phones for illegal immigrants upon their release into the United States, the White House defended the conduct, saying the phones assist the government in monitoring the location of illegal immigrants.

"We need to take steps to ensure that we know where individuals are and we can track and we can check in with them," former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.

The contract was awarded to Acuity International last month. The first payment of just over $16 million out of a potential $79.5 million was paid on Sept. 1.

ICE says in its memo that the purpose of the program is to "promote compliance" among illegal immigrants. Aside from providing case workers for the migrants, the contractor will also "develop and maintain a network of age appropriate and culturally sensitive community resources."

These resources include "trauma informed care." The contractor will also "assist" illegal immigrants "with a support system upon" deportation.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Caliburn International rebranded as Acuity International in 2021, likely in part because of criticism it faced from Democratic lawmakers during the Trump era. A subsidiary of Caliburn, Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. operated a temporary shelter for child migrants who were either unaccompanied or separated from their parents in 2018.

That subsidiary became a subject of ire by such Democrats as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.). In 2019, Warren sent a letter to then-Health and Human Services secretary Alex Azar demanding that Caliburn’s subsidiary not operate a for-profit migrant shelter again, citing previous allegations of "overcrowding and poor conditions."

Rather than place illegal immigrants in a detention facility, those eligible for what the government calls an "Alternatives to Detention" (ATD) program may essentially roam the country feely before their court date. The vast majority of illegal immigrants released into the United States have qualified for ATD programs since 2020.

"The Alternatives to Detention program has already proven to be a costly failure with thousands of aliens disappearing from monitoring every year, and there's no reason to think this will be...
