ATF Bans Ammo!

(Posted by Mr. Ags) For years US ammunition importers were able to
import surplus 5.45×39 Russian ammo (as seen in the picture to right).

The 5.45×39 was designed/mfg. during the Cold War by Russia as an answer to the .223/5.56 x 45 (M4/AR-15) round.  It was originally designed for the AK-74 (not “47″).  Sidenote, for those of you wondering, the numbers after AK-47 and AK-74 designate the year it was introduced into service in Russia (AK-74 = 1974).

I should clarify, not all 5.45×39 ammunition is being banned from importation.  The ATF, at this point, has only refused to issue new Form 6 (this form allows the importation of steelcore 5.45×39 surplus ammo, the affordable stuff).  Even recently, this ammo was available for US shooters at a rate of $.15-/$.17 round and able to be shot in the AK-74 and several AR-15 platforms.
Not any more.

Overnight, the price has doubled on this surplus ammo and we may never be able to get it again.  It’s not too late.  Please take time to immediately contact your congressman and alert them to this and make the ATF release the Form 6 to importers.  Please take time to watch the video below:
