Coldest June since records began – Think you’ll see this anywhere in the MSM?
The French government has a station on Terre Adéliein Antarctica, where they’ve been recording temperatures since 1956.
During June 2014 at the Météo-France base Dumont d’Urville, the average temperature was -22.4 ° C, which is 6.6 ° C lower than normal .
This makes June 2014 the coldest June since records began in 1956,and the second coldest month ever, behind only September 1958, when the temperature averaged-23.5° C.
The station also reported the lowest daily minimum temperature record for June of -34.9 ° C, besting the previous record of -33.4 ° C.
