A Stunning 400 Million People Are On Lockdown In China As Guangzhou Joins Quarantine

Larger than the entire population of the United States.

Guangzhou, the capital of China's southwestern Guangdong Province and the country's fifth largest city with nearly 15 million residents, has just joined the ranks of cities imposing a mandatory lockdown on all citizens, effectively trapping residents inside their homes, with only limited permission to venture into the outside world to buy essential supplies.

The decision means 3 provinces, 60 cities and 400 million people are now facing China's most-strict level of lockdown as Beijing struggles to contain the coronavirus outbreak as the virus has already spread to more than 2 dozen countries.

I imagine there is still someone out there that really believes that only 25,000 people have been infected. right. the true measure of what will be is known to no man.
I understand there is a real effort occuring on a vaccine but no official word. such steps taken by now to limit spread is just to limit. it won't stop the spread, there will always be leakers. the basic rule in biowar research is never release an agent without a prophylactic for the users. if this is an synthesized virus, someone has fucked up badly.

I agree that the situation is worse than stated, but for a different reason. With millions of citizens quarantined in their homes throughout the country, what’s preventing the government from, as Rahm Emmanuel put it, not letting a good crisis go to waste? What is preventing them from using this as a way of liquidating a number of “uncooperatives” in broad daylight? In this current situation, government operatives have the ability to enter any home, leave with all the residents of that home in body bags, completely destroy their remains, and not one person will question it.
