I've read Atlas 3 times. Wonderful book. I also love The Fountainhead, Rourke is Da Man. The speech that Gary Cooper gave in the movie is powerful.
The percentages mentioned don't surprise me. Almost without fail every young person who favors socialism that I've spoken to voices the same view. Less taxes, less government involvement in their life, etc, yet in summing it up their answer is almost invariably Socialism. They're going to need a real world demonstration to shake that off it seems.
I'd give a right arm for someone to rewrite this book in an active writing style. Throughout the book Rand takes a page to write a paragraph. It's an absolutely awesome book, (I'm getting ready to read it for the 3rd time) but it could be so much better written half as long.
