People like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham must be defeated, booted out of office. Prohibit politicians from becoming lobbyists within xx number of years after leaving office. Or, a set amount of time, say 2x the number of years they held office. Greatly reduce, if not wholly eliminate, lobbyists. Eliminate lobbyist influence on elected or appointed politicians and staff.
Clay Higgens, as example, I do not understand why he is being silent. As Sheriff he was very vocal, very present to the public he served. Yet in the House he is nearly invisible. Perhaps politicians should confine themselves as Higgens has, yet perhaps these current days of turmoil demand otherwise.
