That's why we have a second amendment... and Israel realized they should not have had heavy restrictions against gun ownership.
The Jewish branch of my family has always argued in favor of restricting guns. I always thought they were suicidal.
Now, we read in the news that Israel is issuing a massive amounts of firearm "permits" to its citizens after the Oct 7th massacre.
So, the right to defend yourself in Israel is STILL up to the government's benevolence.
