The Waco massacre refers to the tragic end of a 51-day standoff on April 19, 1993, between federal agents and the Branch Davidians, a religious group led by David Koresh, resulting in the deaths of 76 individuals, including many children, when their compound in Waco, Texas, was engulfed in flames. The incident raised significant questions about government actions and the handling of the situation by law enforcement.
