Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.
We're seein new hires out of college with the same 6th grade mentality. Do as little as they can, slack off whenever possible, and spend hours a day watching videos or OMGing their BFF's on their phones. All because the supervisor fails to punish them in spite of the rest of us pleading with him. And this is at NASA.
After sacking Mecca, Mohammed attacked Medina. After slaughtering the residents, he told the attackers to let the dead to rot in the streets and be eaten by dogs. He thought it was only fitting since the nonbelievers are filthy like dogs.
The 6th graders learning the lesson that "life isn't fair" ... is a good lesson to learn. California required a level of socialism be included in math. Specifically, a group would take a math quiz, one person's results would be graded, and the grade assigned to everyone in the group. The excellent result was my kids learned in high school to hate socialism.
Does the 6th grade lesson spill over into the work place? Mike says it does at NASA -- which makes sense since NASA is effectively a government agency that doesn't respond to market pressures. Small to medium size companies can't afford people that slack -- and therefore, let them go. When I worked at a medium to large company, they discriminated wildly depending on performance. They also got top talent and top performance out of their talent as a result. This was years ago, who knows how they respond these days.
