Cutoffs !
I don't know the date of the "Little Red Schoolhouse" bit of propaganda, but I can assure you that NONE of them were as Marxist/Communist as the government monopoly day prisons that masquerade as schools today. The little red schoolhouse was a product of the surrounding community. The teacher was generally hired by the parents, taught multiple grades at once (a far superior way to ensure that everyone ends up educated in the end by the way), and the teacher was held accountable to these parents for what was being taught. Seems more like this kind of propaganda would have been pushed by the likes of Horace Mann and other government monopoly school pushers in the early 20th century who rightly saw the community school (not controlled by the county/state, etc.) as anathema to their goals of dumbing everyone down and destroying the religious traditions, etc. being brought from Europe by the recent wave of immigrants (mostly Catholics).
