Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

The Ring of Brodgar
The Ring of Brodgar (or Brogar, or Ring o' Brodgar) is a Neolithic henge and stone circle in Orkney, Scotland. Most henges do not contain stone circles; Brodgar is a striking exception, ranking with Avebury (and to a lesser extent Stonehenge) among the greatest of such sites.[1] The ring of stones stands on a small isthmus between the Lochs of Stenness and Harray. These are the northernmost examples of circle henges in Britain.[2] Unlike similar structures such as Avebury, there are no obvious stones inside the circle,[3] but since the interior of the circle has never been excavated by archaeologists, the possibility remains that wooden structures, for example, may be present. The site has resisted attempts at scientific dating and the monument's age remains uncertain. It is generally thought to have been erected between 2500 BC and 2000 BC, and was, therefore, the last of the great Neolithic monuments built on the Ness.[4] A project called The Ring of Brodgar Excavation 2008 was undertaken in the summer of the year in an attempt to settle the age issue and help answer other questions about a site that remains relatively poorly understood.[5] The results of the excavation are still preliminary.
The stone circle is 104 metres (341 ft) in diameter, and the third largest in the British Isles.[4] The ring originally comprised 60 stones, of which only 27 remained standing at the end of the 20th century. The tallest stones stand at the south and west of the ring. The stones are set within a circular ditch up to 3 metres (9.8 ft) deep, 9 metres (30 ft) wide and 380 metres (1,250 ft) in circumference that was carved out of the solid sandstone bedrock by the ancient residents.[6] Technically, this ditch does not constitute a true henge as there is no sign of an encircling bank of earth and rock. Many archaeologists continue to refer to this structure as a henge; for example, Aubrey Burl classifies the ditch as a Class II henge; one that has two opposing entrances, in this case on the north-west and south-east.[7]
Examination of the immediate environs reveals a concentration of ancient sites, making a significant ritual landscape. Within 2 square miles (5.2 km2) there are the two circle-henges, four chambered tombs, groups of standing stones, single stones, barrows, cairns, and mounds.[8] The immediate area has also yielded a number of flint arrowheads and broken stone mace-heads that seem to date from the Bronze Age.[9] Although its exact purpose is not known, the proximity of the Standing Stones of Stenness and its Maeshowe tomb make the Ring of Brodgar a site of major importance. The site is a scheduled ancient monument and has been recognized as part of the "Heart of Neolithic Orkney" World Heritage Site in 1999.

Concealed Carry Saves Lives..
DETROIT POLICE CHIEF: CONCEALED CARRY DETERS CRIME, SAVES LIVES
On January 2nd, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said that "good community members who have concealed weapons permits" (CCWs) deter crime and save lives.
Craig admitted he did not have this view when he worked as a police officer in Los Angeles for 28 years because he never got to see concealed carry in action: "It takes an act of Congress to get a concealed carry permit" in Los Angeles.
But according to The Detroit News, when Craig moved from the LAPD to Portland, Maine--"where they give out lots of CCWs"--he realized that criminals in Maine were hesitant because they knew "good Americans were armed."
Craig said upon first arriving in Maine, CCW permit applications stacked up on his desk because "that was [his] orientation"; he had been conditioned to think that CCWs were of little value, so his efforts to approve applications were minimal. That changed, however, as he paid attention to crime stats; now, as Detroit Chief of Police, he is praising the advantage of an armed citizenry.
To be clear, Craig still supports many facets of gun control, but it is encouraging to see an urban police chief openly applaud CCWs.
Seventy-seven-year old Detroit citizen Willie White agrees with Craig. White's home had been broken into "several times" before he decided to arm himself; he shot and killed "an 18-year old intruder" in March 2012. White said he has had no more break-ins.

U.S. Must Build More Icebreakers Now
The United States has just two functioning icebreakers.
While the recently re-furbished Polar Star is rushing to save two ships in Antarctica due to rapidly advancing ice, the USCGC Healy is the only other available U.S. icebreaker. For those of us in the northern hemisphere, it is currently summer in Antarctica.

The Arctic ice cover has also increased dramatically this winter while Antarctica recently experienced the coldest temperature ever recorded on planet earth. It is clear that ice-breaking capability will need to be increased to accommodate the expanding ice.

The Arctic region is of increasing strategic importance, the U.S. is falling behind Russia, China, Canada, and other countries in its ability to maintain shipping channels and rescue stranded ships there.

functioning icebreaker: the medium-strength USCGC Healy, which is primarily used for research. The ship made headlines recently for breaking open a route to the Alaskan town of Nome to aid in the delivery of much-needed fuel. It was a great mission, but it may have left an overly upbeat impression of American capabilities.

Shackleton Ice Shelf In 1912 |
According to National Defense magazine, the U.S. once operated 8 icebreakers. In November 2013 four Senators proposed an amendment to the 2014 Defense Appropriations Act authorizing the construction of four new Polar class vessels, at a cost of $850 million each. The four Senators sponsoring the amendment were Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, from Washington, and Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski, from Alaska. According to the Seattle Times the chances that the amendment will survive into the bill, as passed, are slim.
We need these icebreakers to deal with increasing activity in the arctic and antarctic regions. These investments will also sustain the Coast Guard’s ability to establish effective presence in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Chain: the gateway to the Arctic.
FACT: If Greg Gutfeld Had A Competing Show With John Stewart, Gutfeld Would Have More Viewers
If Greg Gutfled had a similarly formatted show as John Stewart, the same budget and was on at the same time slot, Greg Gutfeld would beat John Stewart in ratings within 6 months. The time is ripe for a new comedy show lampooning the socialists and espousing fiscal conservatism, free market principles and Gutfeld's own Libertarian viewpoint that appeals to the younger demographics.
and Red Eye that his brand of humorous commentary works very well and both shows are hits with the so-called "key" 25-54 demographic. The Five beats all cable news in its time slot in every demographic, and the more irreverent Red Eye does very well also in the 3:00 a.m. time slot. The stats for this time slot are hard to find, but I did find this little nugget from Breitbart in June 2013:
Key point: Red Eye airs at three in the freakin' morning. Morning Joe airs between six and nine in the morning.
During the month of April, in all of cable news, Morning Joe ranked 44, with 133,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo. Red Eye ranked 37, with 155,000 viewers in that same demo.
Shouldn’t this fact take some of the air out of Morning Joe's ridiculously-inflated influence on the national debate? Scarborough's impact is all based on smoke, mirrors, and fraud.
Moreover, Salon's Alex Pareene believes Morning Joe might be a large part of the cable net's problem.
In the battle for hearts and minds, we can begin to win younger audiences disenchanted with the lies and deceptions of the Democrats. The fight against tyranny starts with winning back younger audiences and Greg Gutfeld should be our standard bearer.
