Anti-Robot Protest Held At SXSW

A small group of protesters held signs and handed out t-shirts to protest robots today at South by
Southwest in Austin, Texas.

What did they have against robots you might ask? Well, they are (apparently, seriously) concerned that robots could one day surpass human intelligence and they were genuinely anxious about this.

A spokesperson for the group told TechCrunch they hoped to raise awareness about the possible dangers of uncontrolled growth and development around artificial intelligence and robotics.

He stressed, however the group wasn’t against technology per se or even robots and AI, but they wanted to make sure that these technologies were developed in a controlled way.

The protest spokesperson cited Elon Musk as a prominent person who has expressed concern about robots and the development of artificial intelligence, and in fact TechCrunch reported in January about a $10M donation by Musk to the Future of Life Institute to “keep AI beneficial to humanity.”

As the article stated:

“Here are all these leading AI researchers saying that AI safety is important”, said Elon Musk in the statement, referring to this letter originally put forward by FLI founder and MIT professor Max Tegmark. “I agree with them, so I’m today committing $10M to support research aimed at keeping AI beneficial for humanity.”

FLI wrote in the blog post:

“There is now a broad consensus that AI research is progressing steadily, and that its impact on society is likely to increase. A long list of leading AI-researchers have signed an open letter calling for research aimed at ensuring that AI systems are robust and beneficial, doing what we want them to do.”

The group is simply organizing around the concerns expressed in this letter by some prominent members of the scientific community including physicist Stephen Hawking.

That said, the protest spokesperson insisted they didn’t intend to stop the progress of technology, but they hoped to encourage...

If Hillary Clinton Signed Form OF-109, She Committed A Felony

Transparency: Hillary Clinton insists she did everything by the book, that she broke no laws and heeded all regulations. That book is obviously not the State Department records management handbook.

The government's book says that you don't get to keep materials, classified or unclassified, in your personal possession and then get to sift through them at your leisure to decide which ones the government that paid you gets to see.

All documents are the property of the government. The State Department determines which ones are returned to you.

As Shannen W. Coffin, a contributing editor at National Review and senior lawyer at both the White House and Justice Department under President George W. Bush, points out, a provision titled "Removal Procedures" requires departing federal employees to relinquish any classified materials at the time of departure and to clear the removal through records-management officials.

State Department employees, from the secretary on down, have to abide by this process.According to Coffin, the records management handbook says...

Muslim Sacralized Rape and Feminized Sweden

On a visit to Stockholm several years ago, a Swedish professor

blandly told me the old Vikings were not as warlike as we think.  He told me this flaming lie while we were gazing at an enormous burial mound of some Viking chieftain long ago, when Scandinavian Vikings raided and terrorized Europe's coastal settlements from Scotland to the Mediterranean, reaching even to the Duchy of Muscovy.  The name "Russia" (Roos, or "red") dates back to that time, when red-haired Viking warriors rowed their raiding ships up the Moskva River, planning to kill, rape, burn houses, take slaves, and steal whatever took their fancy – unless they were met by equal force.  In which case they engaged in perfectly peaceful slave trading.

My Swedish professor knew all that perfectly well, of course, but he still felt obliged to tell me the PC lie of the day.

Sweden's coat of arms shows two fierce, roaring lions.  But a few years ago, Swedish feminists successfully campaigned to castrate the rampant lions (on a local version of the royal coat of arms), because their penises were too obviously ready for business.

Swedish politicians obligingly removed the offending members.  They have done much the same thing to themselves.

And thereby hangs a tale of feminized Sweden and the Muslim rape epidemic.

My visit to Sweden came to mind recently when I read that a parliamentary party leader in Stockholm just proposed that Sweden's Jews (who have lived there for centuries) should either renounce their religion or leave Sweden.  After the predictable public uproar, he clarified his comments by saying everybody should take on a specifically Swedish identity and leave his or her old one behind.

Bjorn Soder was desperately trying to dodge telling the truth.  The problem isn't peaceful groups of Swedish citizens practicing their faith.  The problem is violent religious groups whose name starts with an "M."  But just as with Obama, Mr. Soder could not allow himself to say the M-word.

And the ruling coalition is now trying to abolish all religious schools – not because they...
