GENIUS MOVE: Trump Will Skip White House Correspondents Dinner - Again

Every year, the White House press corps throws itself a gaudy party oozing with excess. Known as the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner, the event has turned into a week long party overflowing with booze and, weirdly, even corporate sponsorship.

And just like last year, President Trump wants no part of the mess.

"The White House has informed us that the president does not plan to participate in this year's dinner," WHCA President Margaret Talev said in a statement. Instead, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders will "represent the administration at the head table," Talev said.

The White House press corps is overpopulated by the heavily liberal mainstream media. And like in year's past, the MSM will laud and praise members of the MSM. At this year's dinner on April 28, the association will honor CNN with its biggest award for the liberal network's January 2017 report on how the intelligence community believed Russia had compromising information on Trump.

Seriously.

Lester Holt of NBC News will receive an award, as New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman -- who Trump has described on Twitter as a “Hillary flunky” who "knows nothing about me" -- will be honored with an award for showing “her deep understanding of what makes President Trump tick,” WHCA judges said.

No, really.

The dinner has a long history, and usually, the president of the United States roasts the media in a good-hearted way. But the event became more and more partisan during the two terms of George W. Bush, and then fell completely political during Barack Obama's presidency, turning into a liberal lovefest.

Meanwhile, the entertainment at the dinner has become highly partisan, as well. In 2017, the WHCA decided to pick comedian and “The Daily Show” correspondent Hasan Minhaj. He was predictably unfunny. He joked about...

Police have made five arrests after six teenagers were stabbed within 90 minutes of each other in a night of knife carnage across London.

Four victims are in hospital with serious injuries after four separate attacks broke out in different parts of the city.

Five arrests have now been made over the stabbings of two 15-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy who remain a 'serious but stable condition' in hospital.

A male whose age is not known is being held over attempted murder and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH after the two 15-year-olds were stabbed in Bow, east London.

The Met Police said three 'juvenile' males have been arrested on suspicion of GBH after the 13-year-old boy was stabbed in Manor Park, east London.

No arrests have been made in connection with three other stabbing incidents across the capital last night.

They left a boy, 15, man, 18, and a man in his 40s with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

At the Breitbart News event “Masters of the Universe: Big Tech vs. Free Speech and Privacy” in Louisiana on Thursday night, author Ann Coulter said that Internet speech controls have gone far beyond criticizing flawed reports as fake news. “It is actual censorship, and it is terrifying,” she declared.

Coulter praised the Internet as “the greatest thing to happen to the Right,” so naturally the Left is now desperately trying to assert control over it.

“I just think we’ll all wake up one day and I’ll try to go to Breitbart, and I won’t be able to get there,” she said. “I’ll try to email you, and it won’t be able to get there. I won’t be able to find the Drudge Report.”

“The Internet has been a disaster for the Left,” Coulter pronounced. “The Left already controls all the institutions. They have all the networks. They have all the newspapers. They have the schools. They have the universities. They’re teaching preschoolers ‘white privilege.’ They can’t possibly gain anything from the Internet.”

She said this is why the Left views the Internet as a problem to be solved, a wild frontier to be tamed. It used to be a matter of playing “games” with conservative sites and users, “but now it’s just direct censorship, as is happening to Breitbart.”

“Any attack on the Internet, on total free speech on the Internet, is a disaster for conservatives,” Coulter warned. “It’s absolutely shocking what is being done to Breitbart. This is a major threat.”

She praised President Donald Trump for adroitly turning the charge of “fake news,” which was originally intended to stifle conservatives, back against the mainstream media.

“That was the first attack on places like Breitbart: Oh, it’s inaccurate, you can’t trust it,” she recalled, citing the mainstream media’s belief that average Americans are “ill-equipped” to determine which news is reliable, so media gatekeepers must do it for them.
