Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

VA GOP Wants Hearings On Sexual Assault Allegations, Dems Call It ‘Games’
Any governor needs to be careful about calling in a special session of the legislature. While you may want the lawmakers to handle one particular issue, there’s rarely anything to stop them from doing other things while they’re there. They don’t answer to the governor, after all. They work for the constituents that elected them.
Yet in Virginia, Governor Ralph Northam’s special session is already heating up. It seems Republicans in the state legislature feel no need to stick to Northam’s agenda exclusively. They want to look into something else, something that needs to be looked into.
Sexual assault allegations are serious. They shouldn’t be taken lightly, and while I tend to prefer the criminal justice system to look into those, with someone like a lieutenant governor, that process can’t always be trusted. Not everyone is willing to tangle with a powerful official who can make their life hell.
But lawmakers can. That’s their job to some degree. The proposed hearings are the ideal opportunity to do just that, to investigate and put the evidence in front of the people.
Only, it doesn’t look like that’s...

Virginia House Republicans are floating the idea of using next month’s special session on guns to hold a hearing on the sexual assault allegations against Democratic Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax.
In a letter sent to Democrats on Monday, Del. Rob Bell, R-Albemarle, said the July 9 session presents a “good opportunity” for a hearing on the Fairfax situation, or at least a conversation about scheduling a proceeding “later in the summer.”
“We respectfully ask the Democratic Caucus to agree to something — anything — that would allow bipartisan public hearings to take place,” Bell, the chairman of the House Courts of Justice Committee, wrote to House Minority Leader Eileen Filler-Corn, D-Fairfax.

Swiss court rules migrant too stupid to be deported
The Swiss federal court has prevented the expulsion of a criminal Kosovan due to his low intelligence quotient.
According to a psychiatric report, the 32-year-old has massive difficulties in reading, understanding text and arithmetic, reported the Swiss daily the Tagesanzeiger. An IQ test has shown that his level of development corresponds to that of a nine-year-old to a twelve-year-old.
Thus, “it will be difficult for him to find a home and build a new life,” ruled the court in Lausanne. According to the Tagesanzeiger, it was the first time that such a verdict was made in Switzerland.
The Kosovan had come to Switzerland at the age of seven as a family member. The Office for Migration of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft revoked the residence permit of the man in August 2015. Previously, he had repeatedly committed crimes.
A Basel court had once sentenced the immigrant to two years’ imprisonment for starting a gang fight along with colleagues in 2012. One victim sustained several facial fractures, a fractured skull, and...
Post-rally assessment from Trump supporters: ‘Electric’ event featured ‘Energizer bunny’ prez who has ‘kept his promises’
Supporters of President Donald Trump who were fortunate enough to attend his 2020 campaign kickoff event in Orlando, Fla., Tuesday were not disappointed, as noted in post-event interviews with Fox News.
Correspondent Lawrence Jones noted that those who attended the rally were extremely enthusiastic and had all manner of praise for a POTUS they say is not only delivering on his promises to the country but is doing so without sticking his finger in the political winds to see what’s “popular.”
“They are excited about the president, what he delivered on,” Jones told Fox Newshost and POTUS friend Sean Hannity.
One woman named Susan who was interviewed by Jones said she was enthused about the president’s promises kept and the fact that he’s a tireless champion for all Americans.
When asked what she felt was POTUS Trump’s No. 1 accomplishment she said:
This president has kept his promises to the people of the United States, whether it’s popular or not, he keeps his promise. He has more energy and that place was explosive tonight, full of enthusiasm and the man is like the Everready Bunny. God bless Donald Trump.
Jones interviewed another Trump supporter, “Mike,” an African-American who also said he was happy that the president has managed to deliver on issues “when it comes to Black America.”
“Man, honestly, as a black America, I have never seen a president do so much for our community as this president,” Mike said.
