‘It’s Embarrassing That The New York Times Is Doing This’: Conservatives React To The NYT ‘1619 Project’

Some conservatives and journalists condemned The New York Times following its “1619 Project” that “aims to reframe the country’s history.”

The “1619 Project” is made up of numerous stories and poems about slavery and racismand suggests America’s “true founding” was when the first slaves arrived.

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich called the project “a lie” on Fox News Monday.

The project includes an essay by journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones on Aug. 14 suggesting “our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written.”

“The 1619 Project is a major initiative from The New York Times observing the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery,” the project reads. “It aims to reframe the country’s history, understanding 1619 as our true founding, and placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are.”

Gingrich tweeted Sunday that “The NY Times 1619 Project should make its slogan ‘All the Propaganda we want to brainwash you with’.it is a repudiation of the original NY Times motto.”

“The fact is I saw one reference that The New York Times claims that the American Revolution was caused in part to defend slavery,” Gingrich said on “Fox & Friends.” “That is such historically factually false nonsense that it’s embarrassing that The New York Times is doing this.”

‘Early buzz’ on report: Obama’s FBI willfully misled FISA court to commit ‘political surveillance’ of Trump

The Hill’s investigative reporter John Solomon says Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s final report detailing the dubious origins of the Obama FBI’s Trump “collusion” investigation will be released in late-September or early-October.

“Barring any new disclosures, the IG is on course [to release its report] early- to mid-September to the first week of October as the window they are trying to hit,” Solomon told Fox Business host Lou Dobbs.

Solomon said the early buzz suggests that the Obama FBI intentionally acted in a corrupt and biased manner to illegally spy on Trump campaign aides.

“[There’s going to be] the emergence of very strong evidence that the FBI knowingly and willfully misled the FISA Court,” Solomon said. “And the US intelligence agencies may have also been involved in what Bill Barr calls ‘political surveillance.’ It’s a term I’ve never heard before. He chooses his words clearly. The term ‘political surveillance” could become very popular this fall.”

Ilhan Omar's District Named 'Worst' In United States For Black Americans

Progressive Rep. Ilhan Omar's 5th Congressional District in Minnesota has been named the worst in the US for black people, according to a new study revealed last week.

In what seems to be another PR disaster for the congresswoman, financial website 24/7 Wall Street published its study last week which looked to measure "socioeconomic disparities between black and white Americans by congressional districts to identify the worst congressional districts for black Americans.

"Researchers of the study used several key metrics using data from the U.S. Census Bureau:

Cost of living-adjusted median household income
Unemployment and poverty rates
Educational attainment
Homeownership rates

"Black area residents are about four times more likely to live below the poverty line than white residents, and three times more likely to be unemployed," the study said."Disparate outcomes along racial lines in the district are largely the legacy of historic racism," it added.

"Minneapolis is one of several Midwestern cities that enacted restrictive housing covenants and exclusionary zoning policies in the early 20th century."

Sweden: Robberies Targeting Children Hit New Record High

“People with immigrant backgrounds are over-represented as perpetrators.”

Robberies targeting children in Sweden have hit a new record high, with young men with migrant backgrounds being blamed for the spike.

According to figures published by Sweden’s crime prevention agency BRÅ, 637 robberies were reported against young people under 18 in the second quarter of this year, the highest ever number.

During the same period in 2017, the corresponding figure was 358, while in 2018 it was 505.

During the first six months of this year, 1,277 robberies against minors were reported, which is more than for the whole of 2015.

In 2015, 1,084 robberies targeting children were reported while last year the figure was 1,896. Extrapolated out, there are expected to be roughly 2,500 robberies targeting children for the year of 2019.

According to a report out of Växjö, robberies targeting children have “increased significantly in recent years and young people with immigrant backgrounds are over-represented as perpetrators.”

An Uber driver raped an intoxicated female passenger in Philadelphia and later charged her for vomiting in his car.
