Omar: Minneapolis Protesters Were ‘Terrorized’ by National Guard and Police
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) said Sunday that Minneapolis protesters who defied the governor's curfew orders Friday and Saturday night were "terrorized" by the National Guard and police enforcing the governor's orders.
"There really was also many people who chose to demonstrate and not abide by the curfew, who felt like they also were terrorized by the presence of tanks, by the presence of the National Guard and a militarized police," Omar said on ABC's This Week.
The Minneapolis protests, which started last week in response to the death of a black man held in police custody, took a violent turn Wednesday night when protesters burned and looted cars and businesses. On Thursday night, rioters set the Minneapolis Police Department's Third Precinct on fire.
On Friday, Minnesota governor Tim Walz (D.) ordered an 8 p.m. curfew and pleaded with protesters to abide by it, hoping to separate those who wished to incite violence from peaceful protesters. By Saturday morning, after repeated nights of violent clashes between police and protesters, Walz said in a press conference that the protests were pursuing destruction rather than justice.
"Let's be very clear, the situation in Minneapolis is no longer in any way about the murder of George Floyd. It is about attacking civil society, instilling fear, and...
Joe Biden Campaign Staff are Raising Bail Money for Rioters
They stand with the looters.
At least 13 employees of the Joe Biden campaign have donated money to bail out rioters in Minneapolis and across the country, a questionable decision that places the Democratic campaign staffers firmly on the side of the riotous looters and protestors.
Reuters reported on Saturday that it had identified at least 13 Biden campaign operatives who donated to various pro-George Floyd protestor funds, some of which explicitly advertised that they would spend the money on bail funding for those who were charged with crimes related to the race riots.
Biden campaign official Andrew Bates framed the bail fund donations on the basis of Biden’s opposition to the cash bail system, when asked about the donations. Bates claimed that cash bail represents a “modern day debtors prison.”
In an email response to the development of Biden staffers raising bail money for Minneapolis rioters, the Trump campaign slammed the fundraising move. The Trump campaign said it was “disturbing” that Biden’s staff “would financially support the mayhem that is hurting innocent people and destroying what good people spent their lives building.”
Another Biden staffer named Colleen May who tweeted an image of a $50 donation receipt to the Minnesota Freedom Fund described the bail fundraising as a social justice tactic, saying...

Jonathan Turley says Samantha Turley could face attempted murder charges.
Two sisters have been arrested after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a NYPD van with four officers inside. Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskill, NY, is charged with throwing the incendiary device, which did not explode. Her sister, Darian, 21, (left) then allegedly tried to stop the arrest of Samantha Shader. The police have hit Samantha Shader with a slew of major charges including attempted murder of a police officer, attempted arson, assault on a cop, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. Her sister faces charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration. (The Daily Mail has released these pictures from social media allegedly showing the two sisters).
