Remington Agrees to Sell Ammunition Business, Including Barnes Bullets, for $65 Million
Remington filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time in July. That was after a failed attempt to sell the company to the Navajo Nation and despite the biggest gun-buying boom in the history of the world. Since then, the company has been trying to sell off its various brands and operating units.
Today, the Wall Street Journal reports that . . .
Firearms maker Remington Outdoor Co. has agreed to sell its ammunition business out of bankruptcy to South Carolina-based investment firm JJE Capital Holdings LLC for $65 million plus the assumption of liabilities, subject to better offers.
The JJE offer came in the form of a stalking-horse bid, setting a floor on the sale price for Remington’s ammunition business, which the company has been marketing while in chapter 11. Remington filed for bankruptcy protection in July and has been open to selling its ammunition and firearms operations to pay off its debt.
The proposed deal outlined in papers filed Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Decatur, Ala., covers the design and manufacturing of ammunition sold under the Remington and Barnes Bullets brands and includes production facilities in Arkansas and Utah.
The sale still has to be approved by the bankruptcy court. The company’s creditors could oppose the sale in hopes of a better offer.
Another group that will surely have something to say is the Sandy Hook plaintiffs who’ve already expressed concern that the bankruptcy will let Remington off the hook in their lawsuit’s attempt to claim the company somehow illegally marketed the rifle used by Adam Lanza. Don’t look for the court to...
ESPN to Televise Protesting Players and Singing of Black National Anthem
The players have said they will protest and, if they do, ESPN says they will televise it.
Normally ESPN only shows the honor guard and singing of the Star-Spangled Banner prior to games. However, for their opening Monday Night Football double-header, ESPN will also televise the “black national anthem,” a song known as Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing. In addition, the network will also “show social justice movements, actions, as they happen.”
“Our policy is to cover the anthem when it’s newsworthy. That’s not going to change,” ESPN Executive Vice President of Event and Studio Production Stephanie Druley told reporters. “We are going to continue as we’ve done with the NBA and the WNBA. We will cover social justice movements, actions, as they happen. We’re not going to shy away from that.”
Druley stressed that ESPN does not view the social justice protests as being political.
“Look, we’re going to keep our main rule, which is when it intersects with sports, we’re going to cover it, and look, we don’t see the social justice movement as being political. It’s social justice,” said Druley. She can’t say if they’ll show the anthem for half the season or just two of 10 games. “I don’t know. We will make a judgment call every week. But I can tell you that Week 1, that first game, you will see the anthem — and you will see ‘Lift Every Voice.’”
As Front Office Sports report:
The normally crowded NFL sidelines will look very different to millions of TV viewers this season. The league is strictly limiting the number of people with field access to avoid infecting coaches and players.
TV sideline reporters like ESPN’s Salters and CBS’ Wolfson will have to do their jobs from the stands. There will not be military/police honor guards on the field or on-field performances of the national anthem. Ditto for...
Delaware Women Accused of Bullying a Child and Taking His MAGA Hat are Charged with Hate Crimes
Justice may finally be served.
Two liberal Delaware women accused of stealing a boy’s MAGA hat and refusing to give it back last month are being charged with federal hate crimes for their alleged cruel actions.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) claims that Camryn Amy and Olivia Winslow, both 21, were caught on video stealing a 7-year-old boy’s MAGA hat in Wilmington outside of the Democratic National Convention.
“Violence in any form is unacceptable, but harming another person — let alone a child — because of the expression of their views betrays the principles on which our country was founded,” said Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings.
“Free speech, free assembly, and free expression are sacred, no matter whether we agree with the opinions expressed, and especially when we don’t. That is as true today as it was when the Bill of Rights was ratified. Our Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust will continue to defend everyone’s fundamental rights,” she added.
The DOJ made it clear that they feel the women committed or attempted to commit assault, robbery, and endangering a child’s welfare. Because the crime was committed to interfere with an individual’s ability to exercise their 1st Amendment rights, it can be classified as a hate crime.
The cowardly attack can be seen here:
Last night, Joe Biden supporters viciously attacked Riley, a 7 year-old @realDonaldTrump fan.
Joe Biden supporters stole Riley’s hat, ripped up his sign & made him cry.
Watch. It’s on video. This is sick.

“We had just left a peaceful protest against Joe Biden,” her statement read. “I was holding a pro-Trump sign. My son was wearing his MAGA hat. We were standing outside peacefully minding our own business waiting for our table. Suddenly, two...
It's Not About Trump vs. Biden; It's about Civilization vs. Anarchy
Some of my Democratic friends have asked me how I can possibly consider voting for Donald Trump in light of his vulgar comments about women and his alleged disrespect for fallen American soldiers. The answer is that the election is not about Donald Trump or Joe Biden; it is about the future of the United States. The renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson's "Plague, Panic, and Protests — the Weird Election Year of 2020" requires about 30 minutes, but it is worth hearing if you have the time.
The "woke" Democrat left has published proven lies about President Trump to the effect that he advised people to swallow or inject themselves with disinfectants and bleach to cure coronavirus, and that he forced illegal alien detainees to drink out of toilets. Trump asked, and the context was that the question was for medical doctors to answer, whether disinfectants and ultraviolet light can be used inside the human body. Experiments are being tried with ultraviolet light, and inhalable antiviral drugs have been around for a long time. Detention centers have fixtures that consist of a toilet and sink as a single unit, and detainees drink from the latter and not the former. These proven lies about President Trump reflect on the credibility of the left's other accusations.
Let Shakespeare Explain
Assume, however, for the sake of argument that everything the Democrats say about Trump is true. It is nonetheless far more important that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democratic Party not have the presidency than it is for Donald Trump or any Republican to have it.
King Henry V said on the eve of the Battle of Agincourt, "Besides, there is no king, be his cause never so spotless, if it come to the arbitrament of swords, can try it out with all unspotted soldiers. Some, peradventure, have on them the guilt of premeditated and contrived murder; some, of beguiling virgins with the broken seals of perjury[.]" If Henry V had dismissed every man with a questionable background, he would probably have had to fight the French the next day by himself. This assumes he was himself qualified to remain, given his purportedly riotous youth in the company of people like Falstaff.
Duke Prospero said similarly of his minion Caliban, "He does make our fire, fetch in our wood, and serves in offices that profit us." President Trump serves similarly in offices that profit us by holding at bay the forces that intend openly to have a "revolution" and "transform" the United States.
The Extreme Left of 2020 Is as Dangerous as the Nazis of 1930
The Democrats keep trying to associate President Trump with white supremacists even though he has repudiated and condemned them. White supremacists are meanwhile powerless to do much more than parade around in their sheets and hoods. They sometimes commit violence for which legal remedies, including the immediate use of reasonable physical force in self-defense, are available. They have no influence or support in Congress, and they do not have any ability to...
Why Has Amazon Just Appointed The Former Director of The NSA To Its Board? “Nothing nefarious about that at all”
Amazon has appointed former NSA head General Keith Alexander to its board of directors, prompting privacy advocates to suggest the move could be connected to Alexander’s previous experience in overseeing mass surveillance operations.
“We’re thrilled to elect a new member to our Board of Directors this month. Welcome, General Keith Alexander!” Amazon announced in a tweet:
