The Biden No-Go Zones

The Democratic Party won the long march through journalism, but this Pyrrhic victory has meant the destruction of every principle of journalistic integrity liberals ever claimed to champion.

In American journalism, there are supposed to be some clear, nonnegotiable third-rails.

One is zero tolerance for overtly racist language and comportment among our movers and shakers. Reporters, for example, for four years damned Donald Trump for his neutralizing summation that there were both “fine people” and extremists mingled among the hordes of protestors during their occasionally violent encounters in Charlottesville, Virginia.

It mattered little to the media that Trump added qualifiers of “many” and “both” sides of the protests:

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides . . . And I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally—but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, OK? . . . Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats—you had a lot of bad people in the other group, too.

Selected words from the above quote were recycled ad nauseam as proof Trump was a racist.

Another no-go zone is any hint of contextualizing sexual harassment or assault. No statute of limitations can provide exemption, much less a “she said/he said” defense in the age of “women must be believed.” The Brett Kavanaugh circus of September 2018 was a reminder that a lack of evidence, credible witnesses, or basic logic is no defense against the 30-year-old charges of alleged teenage sexual misbehavior. Bill Clinton managed to use his progressive credentials as an insurance policy to avoid for months any condemnation that he was a callous womanizer, but finally the press corps found his exploitative appetites too egregious to ignore.

A third zero-tolerance zone is any hint of presidential debility. We were told in the dark days of 1973 that Nixon was non compos mentis, nursing his wounds with drink as his legendary constitution finally cracked under the pressure, making him supposedly unable physically to withstand the impending impeachment. “Saturday Night Live” made an industry out of Chevy Chase replaying Gerald Ford’s stumbles. Ronald Reagan was all but declared senile by the press for using index cards in some of his summits and speeches, or putting his hand to his ear and claiming he could not fathom reporters’ gottcha questions amid the din of swirling helicopter blades on the White House lawn.

Finally, lying, fibbing, and even presidential exaggeration are deemed intolerable—or so we are told by the media. It does not matter that the newsroom is currently one of the great purveyors of untruth, as we saw in the Russian collusion hoax, the dubious Wuhan wet-market narrative, or the yarn about the...

No Whites: BBC Offers Position for ‘Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse Candidates’

The BBC has barred white people from applying for a trainee position in Glasgow, in the latest example of anti-white discrimination from Britain’s publicly-funded broadcaster.

A job advert posted by Creative Access — a firm that seeks to increase minority representation in the media and the arts — said that the BBC’s Science Unit in Glasgow was seeking applicants for a one-year, £17,810 per year trainee production management assistant position.

Creative Access said the position was “only open to black, Asian and ethnically diverse candidates,” according to the Mail on Sunday.

The digital campaign manager for the Taxpayers’ Alliance, Joe Ventre said: “BBC bosses shouldn’t be supporting race-based recruiting with taxpayers’ money. Taking an approach like this further undermines confidence in the Corporation and their use of licence fee payers’ cash.”

While positive discrimination was made illegal under the Equality Act of 2010, there is a loophole for ‘positive action’ to discriminate on the basis of race or gender for trainee and internship roles within companies.

The cooperation between the BBC and Creative Access in prohibiting white applicants has been longstanding, with Breitbart London reporting in 2016 that the firm advertised for four positions for the public broadcaster for “Black, Asian and non-white minority ethnic backgrounds”.

A spokesman for the BBC said: “The BBC is a welcoming, inclusive organisation committed to representing and reflecting our audiences.

We support a scheme organised by Creative Access, an independent organisation dedicated to increasing diversity in the creative industries, which provides development roles, fully in line with the Equality Act.”

In February, the BBC announced their Diversity And Inclusion Plan for 2021-23, which committed to working towards implementing race and gender quotas in its workforce. The plan called for women to comprise fifty per cent of positions, 20 per cent for black and...

Florida Man Hit With Felony Charges For Leaving Tire Tracks on LGBT Crosswalk

Activists pressure police to elevate charges to “defacing a memorial.”

A Florida man was hit with felony charges after leaving tire tracks on an LGBT crosswalk, with activists attempting to get authorities to elevate the charges to include “defacing a memorial.”

“Alexander Jerich, 20, turned himself in to police in Delray Beach, Florida, on Thursday,” reports RT. “Jerich was seen on Monday allegedly pulling onto the intersection in a pickup truck and spinning his rear tires for around 15 seconds, leaving black streaks across the rainbow stripes and sending clouds of smoke into the air.”

The charges against Jerich were elevated from misdemeanor to felony after authorities said there was “evidence of prejudice” in his actions.

However, this isn’t enough for LGBT activists, who are trying to make police hit Jerich with charges of “defacing a memorial” under a law passed by Governor Ron DeSantis in April that was intended to protect actual statues and memorials from being torn down by left-wing hate mobs.

If Jerich is found to have violated the law, which applies if someone “willfully and maliciously defaces, injures, or otherwise damages by any means a memorial or historic property,” he faces even more severe felony charges.

Of course, the idea that a gay flag painted on a road represents a “memorial” is absurd, but don’t expect authorities to see it that way having been pressured by the mob.

Despite the seriousness of the charges against him, Jerich may be thankful that the incident didn’t occur in Canada.

As we highlighted last year, another man who...

Wanna Fly Like An Eagle?

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea

Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me

I want to fly like an eagle
'Til I'm free

Oh, Lord through the revolution

Feed the babies
Who don't have enough to eat

Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet

House the people
Livin' in the street

Oh, oh there's a solution

New Zealand's Laurel Hubbard will become the first transgender athlete to compete at the Olympic Games after being selected for her country's weightlifting team.

The 43-year-old is among the five weightlifters confirmed on Monday in the Kiwis' team for Tokyo 2021.

She lifted 185kg in two lifts on the way to qualifying in the women's super-heavyweight division and will be the oldest weightlifter at the event.

Hubbard - who competed in men's events before transitioning in 2012 - will be ranked fourth in the competition in the 87kg-and-over category, which will start on 2 August.

The weightlifter won silver at the 2017 World Championships and gold in the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa, having sustained a broken arm at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia - setting her career back.

Not Even Media is Safe from Far-Left Violence: Antifa Attacks Journalists Covering Conservative Conference

Yet, the Denver Post — under a write-up of Andy Ngô, natch, whom the newspaper called a “controversial conservative journalist” whose work consists of “‘unmask[ing]’ activists he believes are members of antifa, a loosely organized and sometimes violent left-wing group” — reported that “no protesters were spotted inside or outside Saturday.”

The Denver Post didn’t bother looking around about what happened on Friday, when antifa threatened journalists covering the conference — which included speakers like Ngô, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Rep. Lauren Boebert and pro-life activist Lila Rose, among others. Which is a shame, because there was plenty of video from the Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe, one of the reporters they harassed.

This was when things were a bit more peaceful — at least by the standards of antifa, that is.

Antifa members were willing to talk to Lowe and another Washington Examiner reporter — at first.

“They’re known Nazi sympathizers,” one antifa member named Leonne said. “They sit at the tables with people like Proud Boys.”

Then things got a bit problematic, according to Lowe’s account, saying that “tensions quickly rose when they identified our lanyards, which bore the summit logo.

“We noted, as our press passes proved, that we were covering the summit as journalists, not attending,” she wrote in the Saturday piece. “That made the situation worse, as evidently, antifa members, these noble defenders of democracy, regard the press with the same disdain as...
