"Hot Child in the City" is an ode to runaways from the album City Nights. It was written and recorded by Nick Gilder and it went to number one both in Canada (October 14, 1978) and in the United States (October 28, 1978). It was not his first number one single: as the lead singer of the glam rock band Sweeney Todd, he had hit #1 in Canada on June 26, 1976 (in the RPM listing) with the single "Roxy Roller", which remained at the top for three weeks. He won 2 Juno Awards in Canada and a People's Choice Award in the US. According to The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits it held the record for taking the longest amount of time to reach number one.

Cargo Companies Warn that Vaccine Mandates Could Worsen Supply Chain Crisis

A trade association representing all of the major cargo companies in the United States is warning that if Joe Biden actively purses more vaccine mandates, it could further disrupt an already-weakened supply chain, according to Politico.

Stephen Alterman, president of the Cargo Airline Association (CAA) sent a letter to the Biden Administration expressing concern over an upcoming December 8th deadline.

“We have significant concerns with the employer mandates announced on September 9th, 2021,” Alterman said, “and the ability of industry members to implement the required employee vaccinations by December 8th, 2021.”

Alterman’s letter, which was formally sent to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requested that Biden delay the vaccination deadline further to “the first half of 2022.” Alterman noted that by setting the deadline for just before the Christmas holiday, “the looming December 8th mandate for having fully vaccinated workforces creates a significant supply chain problem.” Companies that are already struggling with worker shortages could see even more mass resignations in protest of such strict requirements.

Alterman also pointed out that the companies represented by the CAA, including FedEx, UPS, Atlas Air, and DHL Express, are not only responsible for the transportation of goods such as presents for the holiday season, but also important medical supplies that are needed to continue fighting the pandemic.

“This problem is further exacerbated by the fact that we are already experiencing a worker shortage, both in the air and on the ground,” the letter continued, “and any loss of employees who refuse to be vaccinated will adversely impact needed operations.”

Although several companies expressed a desire at the executive levels to implement Biden’s orders, protests and strikes by workers and their unions have led to prolonged legal battles as companies struggle to implement their own rules in a manner that satisfies their employees. This has ultimately led to many of them determining that it will be impossible for them to get such vaccine requirements in place by Biden’s arbitrary deadline.

Merrick Garland: Domestic Terrorist

Thomas Massie shows damning video to AG Garland of suspected federal agents who entered Capitol, incited riot on Jan. 6?

GOP Rep. Thomas Massie questioned Attorney General Merrick Garland on the Jan. 6 siege on Capitol Hill, asking him if federal agents, assets, or provocateurs had infiltrated the protest and incited a riot.

During a House hearing on Thursday, Massie showed several videos of an individual who was inciting violence at the Jan. 6 riot as he grilled Garland. The man in the video has not been charged and the Republican congressman bluntly asked the attorney general if he was a federal provocateur.

When Garland informed Massie that he couldn’t “see the video at all,” Massie responded, “You have the images there,” referring to pictures Garland had in front of him.

“They were from January 5th and January 6th,” Massie noted.

“As far as we can determine, the individual who was saying he’ll ‘probably go to jail’ and he’ll ‘probably be arrested,’ but he wants everyone—-they need everyone to go into the Capitol the next day, is then the next day seen directing people into the Capitol. But as far as we can tell, this individual has not been charged with anything. You said this was one of the most sweeping investigations in history. So, have you seen this video or those frames from the video?” Massie asked.

“So, as I’ve said at the outset, one of the norms of the Justice Department is to not comment on impending ongoing investigations and not comment about particular scenes or particular individuals,” Garland awkwardly and noncommittedly deflected.

“I was hoping today to give you an opportunity to put to rest the concerns that people have that there were federal agents or assets of the federal government present on January 5th and January 6th. Can you tell us without talking about particular videos how many agents or assets of the government were present on January 6th? Whether they agitated to go into the Capitol? And if any of them did?” Massie continued.

“I’m not going to violate this norm of the rule of law. I’m not going to comment on an investigation that’s ongoing,” Garland asserted.

Conservative author and commentator Candace Owens reacted in a tweet saying the FBI “were the insurrectionists – just as I predicted.”

“There was never a ‘Trump’ insurrection—it was ALWAYS deep state,” she added.
