KENOSHA, Wis. (Reuters) — A jury acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse on Friday on charges that he murdered two men and attempted to kill a third with his semi-automatic rifle during chaotic 2020 racial justice protests in Wisconsin, determining that the teenager acted in self-defense.
A 12-member jury found Rittenhouse, 18, not guilty on two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide, and two counts of recklessly endangering safety during street protests marred by arson, rioting and looting on Aug. 25, 2020, in the working-class city of Kenosha.
His trial polarized America, highlighting gaping divisions in U.S. society around contentious issues like gun rights.
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and fired a bullet that tore a chunk off the arm of Gaige Grosskreutz, 28.
In reaching their verdicts after more than three days of deliberations, the jury contended with duelling narratives from the defense and prosecution that offered vastly different portrayals of the teenager's actions on the night of the shootings.
The defense argued that Rittenhouse had been repeatedly attacked and had shot the men in fear for his life. They said he was a civic-minded teenager who had been in Kenosha to protect private property after several nights of unrest in the city south of Milwaukee.
Official Public Health England Data Says COVID Infection Rates Higher in Vaxxed Than Unvaxxed

The Spectator has published an article citing official data from Public Health England, which states that for the over 30’s, “the rates of Covid infection per 100,000 are now higher among the vaxxed than the unvaxxed.”
Well, this is awkward.
The article, written by Lionel Shriver, is titled ‘The absurd theatre of vaccine passports’.
It points out that according to official data, vaccines only offer about 17 per cent protection for the over-fifties.
“As I observed then, this would mean the vaxxed and unvaxxed pose a comparable danger to each other,” writes Shriver. “All Covid apartheid schemes are therefore insensible.”
She then clearly explains how the official data undermines the entire argument behind vaccine passports, which ban the unvaccinated from entering innumerable venues.
“Fresher information has fortified this conclusion of the summer. In every age group over 30 in the UK, the rates of Covid infection per 100,000 are now higher among the vaxxed than the unvaxxed. Indeed, in the cohorts aged between 40 and 79, infection rates among the vaccinated are more than twice as high as among the unvaccinated. PHE’s fruitlessly rechristened body, the UK Health Security Agency, frantically clarifies that the data ‘should not be used to estimate vaccine effectiveness’, a caveat which I include for the sake of accuracy. But the differences in the infection rates are drastic enough for you to draw your own conclusions.

Communist China Has Disappeared Tennis Star Peng Shuai After A Chinese Official Sexually Assaulted Her....
A Chinese tennis star who publicly accused a top former Politburo official of forcing her to have sex has vanished — as international sports officials demanded her accusations be fully investigated.
Peng Shuai, a onetime No. 1-ranked doubles player, has not been seen or heard from in about 10 days — or a few days after she wrote a lengthy social-media post alleging sex assault by an elderly married former vice premier of China.
Supporters who are worried about the 35-year-old player’s safety have rallied online using the Twitter hashtag #WhereIsPengShuai.
“Yes, these accusations are very disturbing,” 18-time Grand Slam winner Chris Evert tweeted Sunday. “I’ve known Peng since she was 14; we should all be concerned; this is serious; where is she? Is she safe? Any information would be appreciated.”
French tennis player Nicolas Mahut added, “The fact that Peng Shuai is missing is not only the [World Tennis Association]’s problem.
“We are all concerned,’’ he wrote.
WTA Chairman and CEO Steve Simon said in a statement released Sunday that “Peng Shuai, and all women, deserve to be heard, not censored. “Her accusation about the conduct of a former Chinese leader involving a sexual assault must be treated with the utmost seriousness. In all societies, the behavior she alleges that took place needs to be investigated, not condoned or ignored,’’ he said.
“We commend Peng Shuai for her remarkable courage and strength in coming forward,’’ Simon added. “Women around the world are finding their voices so injustices can be corrected.
“We expect this issue to be handled properly, meaning the allegations must be investigated fully, fairly, transparently and without censorship.”
The release of the statement followed widespread criticism of the WTA’s silence up till that time on Peng’s allegations.
Peng has claimed that Zhang Gaoli — a retired member of China’s ruling Communist Party’s all-powerful Politburo Standing Committee — and his wife arranged to play tennis in Beijing with her about three years ago.

She said that afterward, he brought her into a room at the couple’s home and assaulted her.
“I was so frightened that afternoon, never thinking that this thing could happen,” her post said.
She added that the pair had sex once seven years ago and that she had developed feelings for Zhang at the time.Peng’s account of her alleged sex assault was removed about a half-hour after it was posted to her Chinese Wiebo account Nov. 2.

It Begins: FBI SWATS Mom Who Protested Colorado School Board, Terrorizes Family
An FBI SWAT team raided the home of an activist mother of three in Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 16, knocking down her door, bursting into the house and handcuffing her while she was homeschooling her children.
This is the first known case of the federal government making good on its promise to not only intimidate but actually carry out a raid on a mom who was involved in her local school board politics, said Brannon Howse, who interviewed Sheronna Bishop on his live broadcast at Lindell TV Wednesday night. Sheronna broke the story on Lindell-TV an hour earlier on the Lindell Report with host Mike Lindell and co-host Brannon Howse. Howse invited Sheronna to stay over for another thirty minutes and go deeper into her story on his live broadcast.
The U.S. Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland issued an Oct. 4 memorandum directing federal, state and local law enforcement to look for parents to prosecute nationwide who may have made “threats” and made “harassing” phone calls to school board members nationwide, equating such parents to domestic terrorists.
Now a mother, Sheronna Bishop of Grand Junction, Colorado, has felt the brute force of the FBI’s heavily armed SWAT unit used against her family.
She was at home with her three children Tuesday morning when she heard someone pounding on the front door. She said the officers “manhandled” her 18-year-old daughter, pulling her up the stairs by her hoodie, while another officer put her in handcuffs. They proceeded to search the entire house.
She said she has not been guilty of anything but speaking her mind in accordance with her First Amendment rights.
“This is still the United States of America, where we are able to state what we think and we believe,” she told Howse. “There was some pounding on my door. I didn’t really know what to think, I thought at first it might be some neighbor kids. They were pounding profusely, and then it hit me it was the FBI. I took my kids to their bedrooms. They used a battering ram to bash down my door, they cuffed me. And then proceeded to search and go through my whole home.”
She said the agents would not tell her why they were searching her home. They did leave behind documents related to the search warrant, saying they entered her home because she was suspected of causing “intentional damage to a protected computer, wire fraud and conspiracy to cause damage to a protected computer.”
“I don’t know anything about this. They couldn’t explain any of this,” she said. “I will tell you why: they were at my home to intimidate me, to shut me up, because I was using my First Amendment rights to advocate for [Mesa County Clerk] Tina Peters on the issue of Dominion [voting machines] and the damage done in our election. And they’ll never be held accountable. Instead they will criminalize this woman who has stood up.”
“I know people will say, well Sheronna, why don’t you just shut your mouth… That’s exactly what they hope you will do. I can open my mouth and say whatever I want to say and that is not a criminal action. This is about their desire to shut you down and stop you from saying it.”
“I’m a law abiding citizen, I’m very supportive of law enforcement,” she continued. “I love the Constitution. And what happened yesterday, what happened is something I never imagined I would experience in America.”
Bishop said she uses her website, AmericasMom.net, to educate and inform parents and moms regarding their children’s education.
“And since then we’ve gotten involved in school board races. I love my state. I’m a fourth generation Coloradan. Most recently I’ve been a very vocal advocate of a candidate [Peters]… She’s had to fight for her own life, and a guess now I’ll have to fight for mine.”
Bishop has been part of a group of parents that have been successful in fighting the teaching of critical race theory and school mask mandates.
“Colorado was able to flip nine school boards this year. We were able to get one of our leftists to resign and we also flipped our school board in the election,” Bishop said. “And people like me are considered domestic terrorists now, because we don’t stand for the policies that have been forced upon our children.”
Howse said history will be kind to Bishop.
“I believe you will go down in history as the first mom targeted [by the FBI]. The FBI has said it plans to do this and I believe you are the first mom to have this done to you. Mask mandates, opposing critical race theory, election theft, which Biden said if you question that you are involved in subversion. But I believe you are the first mom to have been targeted and had your door literally busted down while you were homeschooling your kids.”
Bishop said she has always made a point of being transparent.
“I have always made myself available, I’ve never tried to hide from anything and now for them to bash my door down, manhandle my daughter… I think the timing is really interesting, because we don’t want people to be silent because of what happened to me. If anything I want people to be more vocal,… because this is still America and you still have the right to stand up for yourself and your family.”

New York Times columnist torches Comey amid Steele dossier revelations: Trump was right to fire him after all
Bret Stephens says Trump was 'the victim of a gigantic slander abetted by the F.B.I.'
New York Times columnist Bret Stephens took aim at former FBI director James Comey over his agency's handling of the infamous Steele dossier.
Amid the recent revelations from the ongoing Durham probe that continue to undercut the legitimacy of the document constructed by ex-British spy Christopher Steele, there has been intensified scrutiny towards the liberal media outlets who have claimed to have corroborated many of the explosive allegations found in the dossier that fueled the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
But in a piece published Tuesday, Stephens called out Comey's leadership that turned the FBI into the "Bureau of Dirty Tricks" due, in part, to the dossier.
"Donald Trump’s best move as president (about which I was dead wrong at the time) may have been to fire him," Stephens conceded before detailing the misdeeds like the altering of the FISA warrants to spy on Carter Page and the new information about Steele's "sub-source" and his ties to Democrats.
Stephens posed the question, "Were the F.B.I.’s errors a matter of general incompetence or of bias?" later answering "it turns out the bureau can be both incompetent and biased," pointing to the indictment of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith for altering emails tied to the FISA warrant into Trump aide Carter Page as well as the recent indictment of Steele sub-source Igor Danchenko.
"Comey used [the dossier] as a political weapon by privately briefing President-elect Trump about it, despite ample warnings about the dossier’s credibility," Stephens wrote. "In doing so, Comey made the existence of the ‘salacious and unverified’ dossier news in its own right. And, as the University of Chicago’s Charles Lipson astutely notes, Comey’s briefing ‘could be seen as a kind of blackmail threat, the kind that marked J. Edgar Hoover’s tenure.’"

The Times columnist acknowledged that a "certain kind of reader - probably conservative" is well aware of the findings from the Durham investigation and that his column was "those who haven’t followed it closely, or who may have taken a keener interest in tales about Trump being Russia’s puppet than in evidence that, for all of his many and grave sins, he was the victim of a gigantic slander abetted by the F.B.I."
