Senator Chuck Grassley Warns DOJ Against Interfering with FBI Whistleblowers
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) recently sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland warning his Department of Justice (DOJ) to not interfere with the efforts of whistleblowers to go to Congress to report corruption within the department.
Just The News reports that Garland issued a memo on August 30th, ordering any potential whistleblowers to keep any such complaints internal, and that attempts to communicate with Congress must first go through the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs.
“[N]o department employee may communicate with Senators, Representatives, congressional committees, or congressional staff without advance coordination, consultation, and approval by OLA [Office of Legislative Affairs],” the memo reads in part.
Garland’s threats were issued in response to an alleged series of whistleblowers going to Grassley and other Republican members of Congress, including Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), to report how they witnessed corruption and political bias at their respective agencies, including, most prominently, the FBI. Jordan has claimed to have spoken with over a dozen such whistleblowers, especially after the highly politicized and widely condemned FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida.
“I write this letter to make clear to you that whistleblowers are the most patriotic people I know and they play an integral part in ensuring that inappropriate influences, political influence, and improper conduct within the Department and its components, such as the FBI, are exposed,” Grassley wrote in his letter back to Garland in response to the memo. “Under your leadership, the Department and FBI have failed to be responsive to congressional oversight requests. Mere months after Biden said the 2022 midterms could “easily be illegitimate,” he claimed on Thursday, “We honor the will of the people. We do not deny it.”
Tell that to the other Democrats, including Biden’s current press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, who explicitly rejected the will of nearly 63 million people in 2016 when they realized that will was for Trump to run the White House.
Blue politicians in Congress not only tried to block the certification of Trump’s election and every GOP election this century, something they lambaste Republicans for doing in 2020, but they campaigned on and continue to campaign on the delusion that Trump “stole” the election and was an “illegitimate” president.
But according to Biden, it’s Republicans with “blind loyalty to a single leader and a willingness to engage in political violence” that will deliver the final blow to the nation’s integrity.

Donald Trump: FBI Did ‘Deep and Ugly Search’ of Barron Trump’s Room
During a Save America rally in Pennsylvania, Trump called the FBI raid a “shocking” abuse of power and criticized President Joe Biden’s administration for conducting it.
Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s administration for authorizing the Mar-a-Lago raid, calling it “one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history.”
“A few weeks ago you saw when we witnessed one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history,” Trump told the Pennsylvania crowd on Saturday evening. “The shameful raid and break-in of my home, Mar-a-Lago, was a travesty of justice that made a mockery of America’s laws, traditions, and principles.”
“The Biden administration invaded the home of their chief political opponent, who is absolutely destroying him and everyone else in the polls. I hate to say it ,even including the Republicans, but we love the Republicans,” Trump added.
He criticized the FBI for selectively choosing Federal magistrate Bruce Reinhart to approve the search warrant.
“On a phony pretext, getting permission from a highly political magistrate, who they handpicked, late in the evening just days before the break-in and trampled upon my rights and civil liberties as if our country that we love so much were a third world nation,” Trump said. “We’re like a third world nation.”
After criticizing the Biden administration and the FBI, Trump revealed that FBI agents conducted a “deep and ugly” search of his son Barron Trump’s room in addition to searching through former first lady Melania Trump’s bedroom.
“They rifled through the first lady’s closet drawers and everything else, and even did a deep and ugly search of the room of my 16-year-old son,” Trump told the crowd, who responded with loud boos.
