Prepping America for Genocide

Every mass killing begins as a social or economic justice movement seeking to redress a historical grievance narrative.

In recent years, again and again, public figures find themselves apologizing for saying “All lives matter.” Bizarrely, activists become outraged at the phrase. A Democratic candidate for president apologized in 2015 when he used the phrase at a symposium. Black Lives Matter activists booed and disrupted the event. In 2016, the president of the National Association for College Admission Counseling apologized for using the phrase. A Tennessee principal apologized for using the phrase in 2021. When a man shouted, “All lives matter!” during a 2020 D.C. protest, a BLM protester beat him with a baseball bat. Over and over, the mob meted out punishment and coerced apologies from anyone suggesting “All lives matter.”

Everyone knows the media reports differently on crime depending on the identity of the victims and the perpetrator. But the selective prosecution of perpetrators is even more troublesome. Despite the lavish attention the FBI and the Justice Department spends on “hate crimes,” the Justice Department does not seem interested in protecting people victimized because of their Christian faith.

From January 2018 to September 2022, the Family Research Council identified 420 hostile acts against U.S. churches including vandalism, gun attacks, and arson. A Catholic advocacy group reports “at least 309 attacks against Catholic churches in the United States” with no arrests in all but 25 percent of the cases. And the FBI has apparently failed to arrest any suspect for anti-Christain attacks following the Supreme Court’s decision last year to overturn Roe v. Wade. There’s a sense that it’s open season on any target of leftist prejudice.

Indeed, it’s become quite popular to label those who resist or complain about race-based politics and anti-Christian rhetoric as “fascist” or “semi-fascist.” The label plays an indispensable role in the very successful libel campaign against Christains, conservatives, and people with European features. It’s a loosely defined group on which one may permissibly project blame for every social ill. Poverty, crime, pollution—it matters not. A public official can always deflect attention from his own failings by projecting blame on the “oppressors.” The process of demonizing and marginalizing a target group can take decades. Like the first few kernels of popcorn, the early violence seems random and unconnected. But once normalized, the violence moves too quickly to stop.

American schools rarely teach about the demagoguery that paves the way for genocide. Out of such ignorance, leftist mobs whip themselves up into a frenzy of “antifascist” fervor without bothering to examine whether their own social justice movement might be spinning towards something very dark.

Leftists fantasize that they would have had the courage of Paul Rusesabagina, the hotel operator who risked his life during the 1994 Rwandan genocide in order to protect targeted Tutsis. They fantasize they would have risked everything like Oscar Schindler. Preventing the next Hitler or Rwanda-style genocide, we’re so often told, begins with social justice. Look around, they tell us, and you will awaken to the reality that, “racism is a causal factor in the social and economic outcomes . . .” And those who have awakened to this reality sometimes adopt the slang corruption of the verb “woke.”

Not so fast. Every genocide, including Rwanda, began with a kind of “awokening.” Every genocide begins as a social or economic justice movement seeking to redress a historical grievance narrative. To test whether you have the courage to resist, we must first confront three truths common to all genocides of the 20th century.

First, all genocides begin with a social justice movement that claims moral justification from the supposed historical sins of the target group. Second, the perpetrators of genocides always believe themselves to be the true victims entitled to a kind of preemptive self-defense. And third, a genocidal social justice movement can arise in any society which permits and facilitates an echochamber in which bigotry against the target group is normalized.

Yes, any society—including the United States.

In a sense, the term “social justice,” is a contradiction in terms. Justice, true justice, is meted out at the individual level. You cannot arrest and prosecute somebody just because they share the same skin color as the person who broke into your home. In fact, international norms prohibit collective punishment of communities based on the sins of their peers or ancestors. Any movement that seeks to punish innocent people because of their religion or skin color peddles evil.

It’s easy to sit in a movie theater and fantasize about how one would have resisted now-extinct Nazis. But in the lead-up to a genocide, one does not have the benefit of hindsight. In the moment, cruelty seems justified. It’s not bigotry if the race or group you’re taught to hate struck the first blow. No genocide ever succeeded without first convincing collaborators that the target group had it coming.

Rwandans justified the slaughter of Tutsis because of their alleged privilege and power left over from collaborating with Belgian colonizers. And the Rwandan government is still angry at Ruseabagina for drawing attention to the genocide of Rwandan Tutsis. Almost 30 years after the genocides in Rwanda, Ruseabagina found himself tortured and imprisoned on trumped up charges only to be released last month for the first time. The Rwandan government never forgot that Ruseabagina stood in the way of the wanton massacre of Tutsis and their sympathizers. So in 2020 the ruling government in Rwanda engineered a ruse to kidnap and imprison him for his sins.

In Cambodia, to justify murdering approximately 3 million of their countrymen, the ruling communists pointed to the social injustice between the haves and have-nots. As noted by the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Minnesota, “Income inequality was rampant. Cambodians living in the urban areas enjoyed relative wealth and comfort while the majority of Cambodians toiled on farms in the rural communities . . . anyone considered an intellectual was targeted for special treatment. This meant teachers, lawyers, doctors, and clergy were the targets of the regime. Even people wearing glasses were the target of...

Is China's Military Command Prepping for War?

According to a leak, the world could be in for a surprise.

According to an audio recording, reportedly leaked out of a recent high-level meeting that took place in Beijing, China, among senior officers of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Guangdong Military Region of the Southern Command, as well as Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is actively preparing to put the country on a war footing.

Plans discussed at the early May meeting focused on a surprise military attack against Taiwan and seizure of the first island chain of archipelagos out from the East Asian mainland that includes territory belonging to Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and Russia (the disputed Kuril Islands).

Much of the area within the first island chain is claimed by the PRC, for example, within its so-called “Nine-Dash Line.” The Gateway Pundit published a report about the joint CCP-PLA meeting on May 16.

The key focus of the CCP-PLA meeting was preparation to build a “military-civilian joint mobilization command and control system,” “establishing wartime procedures,” and “preparing for wartime command and control.”

The immediate Chinese military objective is conquest of Taiwan along with achieving a sweeping complete control of the South China Sea. That objective includes holding onto the artificial islands China has built up in the South China Sea and removing all U.S. and Western allied presence from the first island chain.

These apparently extensive military campaign objectives necessarily would bring the PLA into direct military conflict with Japanese, U.S. and other allied Western naval forces operating in the area of the South China Sea, explicitly including Australia and Japan, among others.

Internal operatives belonging to the Lude Media network smuggled out both the audio and a still photo of the meeting. An English language translation of the meeting transcript is being prepared.

Details discussed at the Beijing meeting in early May included employment of the full spectrum of “Unrestricted Warfare” capabilities.

For example, the PLA military command plans to flood the South China Sea with ostensibly “civilian” vessels, such as fishing craft, when, in fact, such ships will be fully armed PLA naval warships. Should they be approached or countered by U.S. or other naval vessels, Beijing will raise a disinformation clamor about “harassment” of civilian fishermen.

Internal as well as international CCP disinformation campaigns will work to portray China as the innocent party. Co-opted media outlets throughout the U.S. and the West in general already have been recruited to the CCP’s propaganda effort, as reported by the National Pulse in December 2020.

Release of another Biological Warfare (BW) agent with intent to set off another global pandemic could also be part of the war plan.

Additionally, the Guangdong Province manufacturing, shipbuilding and ship reconfiguring capabilities reportedly include some 90 firms along the coast which can refit up to 113 civilian ships simultaneously as disguised naval vessels, with an overall capability for some 280 ships per month.

Roll-on, Roll-off ferries are being converted to tank carriers and unmanned ships also can be produced at the rate of about 90 per month. Guangdong Province also has launched 16 satellites into orbit with 4 ground stations in operation to control them.

The four ground stations are located in Zhuhal (Guangdong Province), Mohe (Heilongjiang Province), Wusu (Xinjian Province) and Gaomi (Shandong Province).

While the U.S. and Western/NATO allies are focused on defeating the Russian invasion of Ukraine and perhaps expecting that any Chinese military attack against Taiwan would be delayed until after the November 2022 CCP elections — where Xi Jinping hopes to win a third term as Party Chairman — in fact, the Chinese instead may be planning a surprise October campaign that would take the U.S., Taiwan, and Western allies unprepared.

And while Russian forces may be too overextended in the Ukraine theater to provide meaningful assistance to the Chinese offensive, analysis of Moscow intentions, as well as earlier reporting from Russian defectors such as GRU Col. Stanislav Lunev, indicate that Russia remains committed to joint offensive operations against the U.S.

Indeed, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Beijing in early February to meet with Xi Jinping in advance of his February 24 invasion of Ukraine. Afterward, Putin and Xi issued a joint statement attesting to their shared opposition to Taiwanese independence and opposition to NATO enlargement, and included a pledge to...

The Criminalization of Preppers in Turkey: Will Our Country Be Next?

History has shown us that collectivism detests the individual. The man who can exist independent of the system, who thinks for himself, who is not easily swayed, and who has values rooted in absolute truth which he refuses to give up – this is the enemy of collectivism.

But if we take a closer look at one aspect of the individual – his ability to exist independent of the system – is it not clear this is an end goal of prepping?

Is that not what a prepper strives for – the ability to exist independent of the world around them so that disaster does not affect them in the way that it affects others?

It is, and this is why collectivism criminalizes preppers over and over again.

We’ve seen it before and we’re seeing it right now, most notably in Turkey.

Turkey is cooked, and we all know it.

For those who keep a fairly accurate pulse of world events, you know that the fiat currency of Turkey – the lira – is collapsing.

As of this year the lira has lost approximately 40% of its value, and from all appearances, it shows no signs of stopping its downward spiral anytime soon.

Inflation is rapidly leading to hyperinflation within Turkey and the Turkish citizens have recognized this. People began attempting to step away from the lira and delving into cryptocurrency in an attempt to protect themselves.

And then the Turkish government made crypto illegal as a form of payment on April 30, 2021. This was done to prevent “irreparable damage.” What’s ironic about this is that the Turks said this was because cryptocurrencies were “neither subject to any regulation and supervision mechanisms nor a central regulatory authority.” [source]

That’s a fun train of logic from the people that are in the process of destroying their own currency.

Crypto – long argued to be the libertarian response to centralized currency – is kind of scary to delve into if landing in a Turkish prison happens to those caught with it. And attempting to dump their personal lira savings into US dollars, euros, or any other fiat currency is practically impossible for Turks as well. Their hands are tied. What then is the natural response?

Your country is being rocked by hyperinflation. Your fiat money is worthless. Forex is regulated to the point of being impossible. Crypto is banned. The price of food has shot up 27.1%.

What do you do?

You don’t want to just watch your life savings be vaporized. You aren’t going to watch your family starve.

And so, you may think it’s a wise idea to put your money into something that will retain its value. This is the reason people invest in gold and silver after all, isn’t it? This is the reason James Wesley Rawles pushes guns, tools, and gear for investment, right?

And that’s exactly what people in Turkey started to do.

Then the criminalization of Turkish preppers began.

People there have started turning to tangibles. They saw what was coming – how things were taking a turn for the worse – and so they attempted to prepare for it.

Then, the ironically named Justice and Development Party (AKP) submitted a bill to the Turkish Parliament asking for fines of anywhere between what would be $7000 – $144,000 USD for those “hoarding….food and other goods”.

That was Step 1 in the criminalization of preppers.

Step 2 took place this past week as 51 various Turks were arrested by police for “panic hoarding” new cars. Turkish media widely reported people were investing in new vehicles as a means of inflation protection.

But this was deemed to be a threat.

These 51 individuals were accused of...

Ivy League ‘Wokes’ are the Biggest Supporters of Political Violence

D.C. doesn’t need the National Guard, but Columbia and Yale might.

The Democrats and their media have spent the past few months crying about political violence coming from conservatives, calling for gun control, and militarizing the nation’s capital. All of the agonizing about political violence came after a year in which ‘woke’ Black Lives Matter mobs killed, beat, and burned their way across the country in an orgy of ‘mostly peaceful’ violence.

Even the most modest estimates of political woke terror in 2020 place it at 8 dead, over 700 injured, and over $2 billion in damages. And the year could have ended even more bloodily with the Left prepping for mass protests with “bail funds that could be activated in response to mass arrests" and a fund “for the families of anyone killed in violence on or around Election Day."

Months before the election, 41% of Democrats suggested that there would be at least a little justification for violence if President Trump won. Those are numbers the media won’t discuss.

While the media continues to promote a phantom conservative threat, it doesn’t want to look at where the violence is coming from in its own ranks. But it will not surprise anyone who remembers the seventies that Democrat support for violence is coming from the Ivy League.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) free speech survey from 2020 found that the highest level of tolerance for political violence came from Columbia University students. Three-quarters of Columbia students identified themselves as some form of “liberal” while less than 10% would describe themselves as politically conservative.

Meanwhile at Yale, 1 in 5 students were willing to tolerate political violence under some circumstances. These are the future leaders of the country’s public and private institutions.

The college with the most conservative student body, Brigham Young, making up about half the students, also had a student body with the least tolerance for political violence.

While most surveys don't break down support for political violence within a party, the FIRE college survey showed that "students identifying as extremely liberal said violence to stop a speech or event from occurring on campus was 'always' or 'sometimes' acceptable at a rate double than students identifying as extremely conservative."

The identified political demographic with the strongest support for violence was the Left.

The 'wokes' weren't directly represented, but so-called non-binary gender students, an almost certain 'tell' of wokeness, were the most violent with 1 in 10 believing that violence was sometimes or always acceptable, and a third believing that political violence could be justified. Three-quarters of this group identified as...

Democrats, Media Push Dangerous Conspiracy Theory, Trump Prepping Military for ‘Stealing’ Election

In a sure sign that regardless of their bluster Democrats and their media allies believe Donald Trump will win re-election in November they are now pushing a dangerous new conspiracy theory claiming the President is prepping the military to steal the November election.

Here’s a “supercut” video that blows the whole sordid thing wide open:

So now all of the polls showing Biden ahead by big numbers, both nationally and in battleground states, make sense.

Their purpose is to hopefully propel Biden to an actual lead in the polls and help push the narrative that the only way Trump can win in November is by stealing the election.

What’s crystal clear is that Democrats are willing to literally burn down America, and destroy our country, if it could help them defeat Donald Trump.

They are vile despicable people, and...

Our Virus Is a Violent Teacher

For a brief season in time, we glimpsed from the awful epidemic what was wheat and what was chaff, what was mahogany beneath and what a scrapped thin veneer above, who were the V8s and who the mere gaudy, tail fins—and how America ultimately got by and how it almost didn’t.

By Victor Davis Hanson • April 26, 2020

“War is a violent teacher.”—Thucydides

Before this virus has passed, those of the New York Symphony, like the defeated Redcoats at proverbial Yorktown, will be playing the real “The World Turned Upside Down”:

And then strange motions will abound.
Yet let’s be content, and the times lament,
you see the world turn’d upside down.

Before the virus, apparently we were prepping for our brave new progressive, centrally planned dystopia.

During the Barack Obama years, government agencies had begun to chart a new inclusive future for hoi polloi Americans. We were lectured frequently that the Obama arc of the moral universe was long, but it always bent toward his sense of justice. Translated that meant, like it or not, we Americans had a preordained moral rendezvous with a progressive destiny.

Suburban lifestyles, yards, grass, rural living, and commute driving were to be phased out. High rises, government run-buses, and high-speed rail were in: more people in less space, with less energy consumed, meant less trouble. Granny was better off in a green rest home, not the back bedroom.

Ohio was over; the EU was our future. Clean coal was a 20th-century embarrassment; the next and future Solyndra would be cutting-edge. The idea that the United States ought to be self-sufficient in energy and food seemed worthy of yawns.

Instead of the backyard barbeque and a lawn, apartment dwellers would enjoy shared green belts around their communal towers—albeit not as large as the Martha’s Vineyard estate of Barack Obama or the palazzo of Nancy Pelosi.

Universities were to speak truth to power in new race/class/gender missions and diversity/inclusion/equality agendas. The old boring curriculum of math, science, engineering, literature, language, history, and Western Civ were sputtering out, or recalibrated to include social activist themes.

After all, China and India would supply the world’s next boring generation of rote engineers. But they could not invent, compute, or formulate without our brilliant peace studies and ethnic studies geniuses to give them moral instruction.

“Knowledge” became a relative construct, not an absolute that could be roughly calibrated. Students needed to appreciate that traditional curricula and grades were merely models of leveraging power by arbitrarily setting “standards”—pathologies that could only be understood by appreciating how the marginalized “Other” was victimized by them.

Being “woke” meant fathoming how unmet personal expectations ought always to be attributed to the fault of someone else—and, even worse, that “someone else” might be dead or alive. The Squad just told us so. Now Chairman Xi agrees.

Billions of dollars of university capital and budgets were diverted to new administration and faculty investments that might focus on how young people thought of themselves rather than what they actually knew. Everyone understood the job of vice provost for diversity, equity, and inclusion might easily disappear in a nanosecond and never be missed. No one dared to hint at the suggestion.

All were cynically aware that the vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion made enough money to avoid living in a “diverse” neighborhood, put his own kids in a school where all were equally not poor, and wanted to be included among the elite.

There were new winners and losers in a transnational United States, and such university administrators were among the winners.

Globalization was to be seen as some sort of ultimate talent meter that finally told us not only who was talented but, more important, who was worthy. The dumb un-globalized losers could not figure out how to code, or lacked a communications major or international relations degree, or had not spent a semester abroad in China, or did not understand global investment. They clung to some ancient shibboleth—“Made in America”—as if producing stuff here really mattered.

So the deplorables and Lysol drinkers more or less deserved the hollowed-out manufacturing landscape, closed assembly plants, and industrial wasteland of the nation’s interior that anachronistically and foolishly had bet that muscular labor still had a place in the postmodern world.

Instead of Prepping for Pandemic, CDC Focused on Gun Control and Promoting Social Justice

The federal bureaucracy has failed us again.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has come under fire for their handling of the coronavirus pandemic and examining what they devote their limited resources toward shows that the anger that has developed toward the bureaucracy is well-deserved.

Journalist Daniel Greenfield noted in Front Page Mag that the CDC has focused on liberal causes du jour rather than their mandate of actually keeping Americans safe from legitimate public health crises.

Greenfield noted that one of the social justice causes that have been pushed by the CDC are unconstitutional gun control schemes.

Last year, the federal budget gave $25 million for the CDC to split with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to come up with psuedo-scientific gun control schemes. This satisfied a request from liberals to study gun control as a public health crisis as a way to undermine the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

“The significance of this is huge,” said Mark Rosenberg, a gun control advocate who used the CDC to push for gun control before Republicans defunded such research in the 1990s. “For 20 years, the government has not sought answers using science to this horrendous public health crisis.”

Greenberg also pointed to other boondoggles the CDC has funded, including a state-of-the-art $106 million visitor’s center replete with Japanese gardens, a gym facility costing $200K, and a beauty pageant for transgender individuals.

“The occasional outbreak only calls the CDC’s general incompetence to everyone’s attention. The rest of the time its incompetence, like that of other government agencies, just ticks along wasting money,” Greenberg wrote.

A program implemented by former President Bill Clinton illustrates the failure of the CDC’s SJW central planning. He unveiled his National Plan to Eliminate Syphilis in 1999, in what was supposed to be a legacy project for his administration. Despite the money that was spent on his plan – which was framed around fighting back against racism – syphilis rates reached an all-time high in the year of 2018.

Democrat presidential front-runner Joe Biden, in a boast exhibiting extreme Hubris, said he would use the CDC and other bureaucracies to defeat cancer if he was elected to...

Qatar Uses Its New Media Network, AJ+ To Meddle In Our Culture War.

The emirate punishes homosexuality with death while funding “woke” outrage bait in America.
Saudi Arabia’s neighbor Qatar is engaged in psychological warfare against America. Its tool? The media network “AJ+”—a digital offshoot of Qatari-owned Al Jazeera Television. Al Jazeera describes AJ+ as its online channel which produces “short and bite-size information on the world’s big stories.”

Qatar has realized something both profound and sinister; they don’t need to wait for terrorists to attack Americans when they can use the power of the internet to make Americans fear one another.

This Qatari-funded “short, bite-size” content promotes a radical left-wing agenda and divides Americans. Qatar has realized something both profound and sinister; they don’t need to wait for terrorists to attack Americans when they can use the power of the internet to make Americans fear one another.

AJ+ specializes in racially divisive videos intended to foster outrage among liberal Blacks, with titles like “How Trump Plans To Keep America White,” and “Trump’s Racism,” which gets points for brevity, if not accuracy. A video titled “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” appeared on the Instagram account of an extremely popular Black celebrity with over 3 million followers. That video argues that American Blacks still have visceral physical and mental reactions to slavery on account of our ancestors who lived through it centuries ago. This is utter nonsense; but nonsense is useful to Qatar so long as it divides Americans.

This race-baiting content—deliberately and continuously injected into Black Americans’ social media feeds—is a serious threat to the unity of our country. Evidently, Qatar believes that fear keeps Black Americans tethered to the Democratic Party, and AJ+ provides plenty to its massive online audience, every single day.

AMPLIFIED OUTRAGE

This is all the more insidious because AJ+ is EVERYWHERE. Launched in 2014, AJ+ has over 11 million likes on Facebook, one Million followers on Twitter, and 365,000 followers on Instagram. As of 2017, AJ+ videos had been viewed over 9 billion times, and AJ+ content had received over 487 million engagements.

American foreign policy is regularly demonized in videos like Is The U.S. Military Prepping For War With North Korea? (I’ll save you a click: the answer is no)

AJ+ doesn’t limit itself to race-baiting; there isn’t a far-left talking point that AJ+ hasn’t created videos to promote. Climate Change? They’ve got you covered! Radical transgender ideology? Check. Abortion? They’ve got a trans man’s take on it! The so-called “epidemic” of police violence against unarmed African-Americans? No problem! Reparations for slavery? Sure!

And, because this left-wing media group funded by a foreign government to divide America never met a victim group it didn’t want to manipulate, there is plenty of content targeting American...

Here are some tips for surviving an EMP attack against the United States

Non-preppers often scoff at those who make an effort to prepare for different disaster scenarios. Would they be thinking the same thing after an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack takes place in the country and civilization comes to a halt? (h/t to VigilPrudence.com)
Large-scale EMP event can halt civilization as we know it

An EMP is a “high-frequency burst of electromagnetic energy caused by the rapid acceleration of [charged] particles.” A large-scale EMP may result in the collapse of critical civilian infrastructures and services like banking, finance, food, water systems; the power grid; telecommunications; and transportation all over the country.

There are two types of EMP events: Those that occur naturally due to a great geomagnetic storm; and those that are man-made via the use of a nuclear weapon delivered by a primitive missile. Both types of EMP event may have similar effects.

Can you survive in a post-EMP America?

It’s never too late to start prepping, but if you want to keep your family safe after an EMP attack, you need to prep right now. Technology has revolutionized various aspects of your life, but after an EMP event, you would probably be helpless without electricity.

Preppers have an advantage because of their survival stockpiles and their various prepping skills, but what about the rest of America?

A group of EMP experts recently provided risk assessments which warned that the use of a strategic EMP weapon may cause significant damage to the U.S. The revelation also supported an alarming fact: The U.S. electrical grid urgently needs to be fortified.

Another important fact is that a massive geomagnetic storm or solar flare may hit the planet at some point within the next 50 years. The effects of such an event would be catastrophic.

It remains unknown how an EMP event will affect the country, but it is better to start preparing today than leave things as they are until it’s too late. If an EMP event causes the loss of electricity and fries the circuitry of every electrical equipment, such as modern vehicles, how will your family get through the rest of this scenario?

Most homes would have food and water for several days, although all water utilities would cease since there would be no power to operate pumping stations or treatment plants. Stores would run empty the moment daily food deliveries stop.

Communication would be next to impossible as landlines, smartphones, television, and radio stations would stop working. Looters would take advantage of the ensuing chaos to target shops until they move on to domestic housing.

Without the police, there wouldn’t be law and order.

Prepare for the worst

If you’re new to prepping, now is a good time to start building your survival stockpile. Start stocking up on clean water, food, weapons, and ammunition that will last you for at least a couple of weeks.

As you get the hang of things, gather enough supplies in your stockpile for at least a month-long SHTF scenario. Learn how to use your weapons well so you can...

The Worst Mayors in America are Running for President

Newark is the most dangerous city in New Jersey, Tallahassee is the most dangerous city in Florida, and South Bend is the most dangerous city in Indiana. But instead of fixing their failed cities, the current mayor of South Bend, and the former mayors of Newark and Tallahassee want to run for president.

Mayor Peter Buttigieg has announced that he’s forming an exploratory committee for a 2020 run. Media reports have focused on the possibility that he might become America’s first gay millennial president, instead of on the fact that he’s headed a city since 2011 which has double the national and statewide violent crime rates. And a city where Hispanic poverty rates are 10% higher than the national average, African-American households have double the poverty rate, and Asian-American incomes are halved.

Peter Buttigieg

South Bend was recently rated one of the “worst cities” to live in. The unemployment rates are higher than average, the property values are lower, and even the water quality is below average.

Gushing media reports about the gay millennial mayor, a Harvard grad and a Rhodes scholar, overlook South Bend’s poverty rate of 24.7% and that 45% of households are living near the poverty level.

South Bend has a little over 100,000 residents, but there were over 100 criminal shootings in 2017 in the failed city which hosts murderous gangs such as the Latin Kings and Gangster Disciples.

In January 2019, just as Buttigieg was prepping his presidential run, three shootings in one week killed two teens and left a woman paralyzed from the waist down. In one summer week, the casualties included a 12 and a 13-year-old. In March, 6 people were hurt in one shooting spree.

“It is a season for boldness and it is time to focus on the future,” Mayor Buttigieg declared in his presidential debut video. “Are you ready to walk away from the politics of the past?”

Buttigieg’s past is a poverty-stricken murder capital so it’s understandable that he would want to walk away from its blighted streets, wrecked industry and general misery to focus on his political future.

And he’s not alone.

Andrew Gillum

Andrew Gillum, the former Tallahassee mayor, coming off a humiliating defeat in the Florida gubernatorial race and still struggling with an ethics complaint tangled in an FBI investigation, also wants to throw his tattered hat into the 2020 ring.

Tallahassee’s murder rate tops bigger cities in Florida. And Leon County’s murder rate rose 83% in 2017.

“Tallahassee had the highest number of murders in history last year and we top the state for the highest crime rate,” his former chief of staff warned in his own campaign.

The poverty rate in Tallahassee is at 28.4%. That’s even worse than South Bend. One single zip code in Tallahassee has the highest concentration of poverty in Florida. 1 in 5 adults in Leon County have trouble reading. And even Florida State University had more violent crimes on campus than any other state school.

That’s another reason why the Florida city was also ranked as one of the worst places to live in America.

There’s no conceivable reason why running South Bend or Tallahassee would qualify you for higher office, lower office or even any office at all. But Cory Booker exploited his tenure running the worst city in New Jersey to represent the entire state in the United States Senate. Booker has also joined the dozens of candidates vying for the opportunity to be the Democrat nominee for the White House.

Cory Booker

Booker first became a national figure as Newark’s mayor. The charismatic politician got famous by promising to turn the troubled city around using a Twitter account and viral stunts that got him national headlines, but did nothing for the city he was running into the ground. And then, as Buttigieg is trying to do, he got out of there as soon as he could, using his new celebrity as a springboard to higher office.

Like Tallahassee and South Bend, Newark is one of the country’s murder capitals. And it’s been listed as the most...
