Third suspect arrested in alleged gang rape on Fla. beach during spring break

A third man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a young woman on a crowded Florida beach during spring break, authorities said Wednesday.

George Davon Kennedy, a student at Middle Tennessee State University, was arrested late Tuesday at a relative's house in Georgia, Bay County, Fla., officials said. His age was not given. He is awaiting extradition to Florida on charges of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, the Panama City News Herald reported.

Delonte Martistee (left), 22, and Ryan Calhoun (right), 23, were arrested earlier this week in connection with an alleged gang rape in Panama City, Fla., officials said.

He is the third man to be arrested for the March attack on an unconscious 19-year-old girl that was videotaped by bystanders, according to law enforcement officials.Kennedy did not appear to be participating in the...

Obama Leaves U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati Behind In Iran

A Marine veteran has been held captive in Iran since August 2011, when he was taken prisoner while visiting family and charged with spying. Does President Obama hear his plea for unconditional freedom?

With the exception of deserters like Bowe Bergdahl, those who put on a uniform and serve their country seem like afterthoughts to this administration, if they're thought of at all.

Just ask Andrew Tahmooressi, the Marine sergeant allowed to languish 214 days in a Mexican jail for the crime of missing a highway exit. Or now, Amir Hekmati of Flagstaff, Ariz., a Marine vet who sits in an Iranian jail, having made the mistake of trying to visit his Iranian family.

Hekmati has been locked up in Iran's Evin Prison since he returned to his ancestral home 3-1/2 years ago to visit family. His parents left Iran when the mullahs took power in 1979. He did not think he would later be a victim of Iranian belligerence and American indifference, accused of being a CIA spy. He was first sentenced to death, but that sentence was overturned, and in a retrial he got 10 years in prison.

Unlike Bergdahl in Afghanistan, Amir served with genuine honor and distinction in Iraq, where Shiite militia groups were supplied with weapons and trained in their use by Iran's Revolutionary Guard. These weapons included sophisticated improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, designed to exploit vulnerabilities in U.S. military vehicles and increase American casualties.

Oregon sheriff says proposed gun background-check law won’t be enforced

Another sheriff said Tuesday that he will not enforce an upcoming state law that expands gun background checks to include private sales. Sheriff Dave Daniel, from Josephine County, Oregon which sits on the border with California, said that it appears that the law is not in line with the county’s charter and said he does not have the personnel to pursue violators committing a misdemeanor.

The Senate Bill, 941, which passed the state Senate on Tuesday, calls for criminal background checks for private gun transfers. The Beaver State would become the 12th state to adopt the policy. The state already requires a background check at dealerships. Supporters say any measure that makes it...

Big Boy!

In 1947 Alex “Shoney” Schoenbaum opened the Parkette Drive-In next to his father’s bowling alley in Charleston, West Virginia. Schoenbaum became a Big Boy franchisee on February 7, 1952, now calling his several locations the Parkette Big Boy Shoppes.[1][2] In May 1954 a public "Name the Parkette Big Boy Contest" was announced and in June 1954 Schoenbaum's five Parkette Drive Ins were rebranded as Shoney's.

Shoney's [the Parkette] was originally the Big Boy franchisee for West Virginia; however, Schoenbaum rapidly grew the Shoney's chain through subfranchising, expanding his Big Boy territory through the southeastern United States, excluding Florida only because the rights already belonged to fellow Big Boy franchisee Frisch's.

Schoenbaum's earliest subfranchisees operated under their own name. In 1955...

The 4th amendment is supposed to protect us from Government snooping into our private transactions and we are supposed to have access to what happens in Government.
The opposite is what happens now. This is Tyranny.
