Cutting Through the Media’s Falsehoods About ‘Dreamers’
Conscientious members of Congress should not give in to this threat. Amnesty will encourage even more illegal immigration—just as the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act did.
That bill provided citizenship to 2.7 million illegal aliens. Yet by 1995, another 5.7 million illegal aliens were residing in the U.S. Many of them crossed the border to join their newly legalized friends and family. Others, no doubt, believed that since the U.S. provided amnesty once, it would do so again.
However Congress decides to deal with Dreamers, it should be based on the real demographics of the DACA populace, not the glamorized image typically presented by the media.
Watching television reports concerning Dreamers, one would think that the DACA program applied only to college-educated immigrants who were just a few years old when their parents brought them into the country illegally.
We are led to believe that most are so fully Americanized that they would now have trouble speaking their native language and are all but ignorant of their birth countries’ cultural norms. Thus, we are supposed to believe returning them to their native lands would be a cruel hardship.
In fact, many DACA beneficiaries came here as teenagers. All were eligible for the program as long as they entered the U.S. before their 16th birthday. By that time, there is no doubt that they spoke the language of their native countries fluently and knew their culture intimately.
DACA had no requirement of English fluency, as evidenced by the application form that had a space to list the translator used to complete the form.
The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that “perhaps 24 percent of the DACA-eligible population fall into the functionally illiterate category and another 46 percent have only ‘basic’ English ability.”
Unfortunately, many Dreamers are poorly educated. Only 49 percent of DACA beneficiaries have a high school education, even though a majority are now adults. And while military service could also qualify an illegal alien for DACA, out of the current 690,000 DACA beneficiaries, only 900 are serving in the military.

Chinese Killed At Least 10,000 At Tiananmen Square, Newly Declassified Documents Claim
Newly declassified British communications paint a more gruesome and detailed picture of China’s 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre than ever before.Communications from Sir Alan Donald, British Ambassador to China at the time, described injured students begging for their lives before being bayoneted by soldiers, and the remains of protesters being incinerated and then flushed into drains, the Independent reported Saturday. Donald’s source for the communication was a “good friend” serving on China’s State Council who he said had “previously proved reliable and was careful to separate fact from speculation and rumour.”

Germany needs 2,000 more judges to deal with ‘enormous’ 5-fold spike in terrorist-related cases

As many as 1,200 investigations have been launched by federal prosecutors over various terrorist-related activities this year, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office told the dpa news agency. It added that 1,000 cases involved radical Islamists.
The figures were described as an “enormous increase” from the previous year, when only around 250 similar cases were recorded, with 200 being linked to radical Islam. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office did not elaborate on the reasons for the significant rise, and provided no details about the nature of the activities that led to the initiation of the criminal investigations.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office, Germany’s highest prosecution body, is, however, usually tasked with investigating offenses that pose a grave danger to the internal or external security of the state, Der Spiegel reports. “Less significant” cases are investigated by local and regional authorities, the publication added. This means the number of major terrorism-related cases alone has reached 1,200, while the total number of possible terrorism-linked cases might be even higher.
The proliferation of such cases has already led to a situation where federal prosecutors are overstretched, and forced to pass a over a third of these cases to regional state attorneys. This year, according to the dpa, the Federal Prosecutors Office in Karlsruhe had to hand as many as 450 such files over to regional authorities.
As things stand, the situation threatens to overwhelm local judges and law enforcement authorities as well, warns the German Judges Association. In addition, regional authorities are dealing with a growing number of terrorism-related cases that particularly involve jihadists leaving the country to fight in Iraq and Syria, as well as some terrorist sympathizers who are financing extremist groups.
“The cases handed over by the federal prosecutors come on top of it,” Sven Rebehn, the head of the judges association told Der Spiegel, adding, “the situation is tense everywhere.” He said Germany needs some 2,000 additional judges and prosecutors to deal with the case backlog.

Looking at 78 large agencies, the nonprofit organization OpenTheBooks.com found that the average salary of a federal employee exceeds $100,000 and that roughly 1 in 5 of those on the government payroll has a six-figure salary.
Almost 30,000 rank-and-file government employees make over $190,823, more than any governor of the 50 states.
“Our oversight report shows the size, scope, and power of the administrative state,” Adam Andrzejewski, Open the Books’ CEO and founder, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview. “Two million federal bureaucrats have salaries, extraordinary perquisites, and lifetime pension benefits. This compensation package has never been seen in the private sector.”
The median wage for all American workers was $44,148 a year for a 40-hour work week in the final quarter of 2016, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Andrzejewski said the Open the Books report, released Tuesday and including an interactive map of the 2 million federal bureaucrats by ZIP code, is meant to educate taxpayers on where their dollars are going.

Investigating the Investigators at DOJ and FBI
Eight high ranking Department of Justice and FBI officials have been removed, reassigned or are rumored to be leaving. They include the top FBI agents who worked on two of the agency’s most high-profile investigations in the past two years: the probe into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information as secretary of state, and the Trump-Russia collusion investigation.
There’s been a great deal of news coverage about allegations of collusion between President Trump and Russia; much of the reporting apparently accurate and some of it not.
Less attention has been given to concurrent investigations that seem to be claiming scalps even if indirectly.The investigations into the investigators include Congressional inquiries and a multi-faceted probe launched by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz surrounding the FBI decision not to prosecute Clinton. Specifically, Horowitz—who was appointed by President Obama—said he’s reviewing:
- Allegations that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik should have recused themselves.
- Allegations of improper political contacts by Kadzik.
- Allegations that Justice Department and FBI employees improperly disclosed non-public information and were influenced by improper considerations in releasing certain documents just before the 2016 election.

Trump Administration Releases Final 2017 Report on Incarcerated Illegal Immigrants. Here’s What It Found.
The report also found that 94 percent of confirmed foreign-born inmates in federal incarceration were in the country illegally.
The Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security issued their final quarterly report for 2017 measuring progress since a January executive order by President Donald Trump to crack down on illegal immigration.
The report also found that about two-thirds of all immigrants in the custody of U.S. Marshals Service were in the United States illegally.
“This shows undeniably the need to secure the southern border with a wall to prevent many of the crimes from occurring,” a senior administration official said.
This is the third report issued since a Jan. 25 executive order regarding interior enforcement of immigration laws.
The reports have been primarily raw numerical data of confirmed foreign-born and illegal immigrants incarcerated. Officials said they hope future reports will have a breakdown of specific crimes, as well as information on state and local incarcerations.
A senior administration official cited U.S. Sentencing Commission data from fiscal year 2016 that found almost one-third of drug trafficking crimes and more than two-thirds of drug-use crimes came from foreign-born offenders, both legal and illegal.
The report found 58,766 known or suspected aliens were in Justice Department custody at the end of fiscal 2017, or Sept. 30. That included 39,455 persons incarcerated by the Bureau of Prisons, or BOP, and another 19,311 held by the U.S. Marshals Service, or USMS.

Of this total, 37,557 people had been confirmed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be aliens (i.e., non-citizens and non-nationals), while 21,209 foreign-born people were still under investigation by ICE to determine alienage.
Among the 37,557 confirmed aliens, 35,334 people (94 percent) were unlawfully present. These numbers include a 92 percent unlawful rate among 24,476 confirmed aliens in BOP custody and a 97 percent unlawful rate among 13,081 confirmed aliens in USMS custody.

32% of Federal Inmates Are Aliens
DHS reported a total of 58,766 "known or suspected" aliens in the custody of federal authorities. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, there are 184,379 total federal inmates, meaning that almost 32 percent of all federal inmates are aliens. The number of aliens in federal custody has risen since the last report: At that time, the Justice Department estimated that there were 42,000 aliens, representing 24 percent of the federal prison population.
Of the 58,766 "known or suspected" aliens, ICE could confirm that 37,557 (64 percent) are confirmed aliens, defined as meaning that they are non-citizens and foreign-born. From that group of 37,557 ICE-confirmed aliens, an astonishing 35,334 (94 percent) were illegally residing in the United States.
Prisoners known or suspected to be aliens are reviewed by ICE to determine their immigration status, and are placed into one of five categories:
- Under Investigation: Further investigation by ICE is required to confirm alienage and establish potential removability
- In Proceedings – Legal: Confirmed alien who is lawfully present in the United States, but has been charged as a removable alien; removal proceedings are ongoing
- In Proceedings – Illegal: Confirmed alien who is unlawfully present in the United States; removal proceedings are ongoing
- Subject to Final Order of Removal: Confirmed alien who is subject to a final order of removal
- Relief/Benefit: Confirmed alien who has been granted relief or protection from removal that would generally be considered lawful status
Of the known and suspected aliens under investigation by ICE, the vast majority (31,699) are confirmed as illegal aliens and awaiting removal from the country or are still under investigation (21,209).
Immigration courts found that only 10 aliens qualified for relief and will not face removal proceedings.
Open-borders advocates and the mainstream media frequently make the claim that aliens are less likely to commit crimes (see here, here, here, and here, for example). This data casts doubt on that assertion. Many of the aliens in federal custody are held for immigration violations, but that does not diminish the fact that a full 32 percent of federal prisoners are aliens, and that over 90 percent of those are in the country illegally.

ILLEGAL ALIEN SUFFOCATED HER OWN BABY DAUGHTER
Maria Guadalupe Cardenas, 34, was charged with capital murder, a capital offense.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call Saturday from a woman — later identified as Cardenas — who said she had just killed her infant, according to the news release.
At about 1:24 p.m., deputies responded to a Mercedes home on Mile 9 North east of Mile 1 East in reference to the call.
Deputies met with Cardenas, who said she killed her baby. During an investigation of the home, deputies found the body of an unresponsive female newborn and secured the scene, according to the news release.

Rep. Devin Nunes Allegedly Preparing Report of FBI Corruption, Possibly Criminal
The focus would be on the conduct of the FBI officials during the probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election.
Politico claims a number of House Republicans have been gathering secretly for weeks in the Capitol to build a case against senior leaders of the DoJ and the FBI for acting improperly, and perhaps criminally.
The allegation is that they mishandled the contents of the dossier.
The FBI has admitted they were not able to verify any of the so-called facts in the dossier and some have been disproven. There is reason to believe the dossier was used to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.
Politico tried to press for details but were told by Rep. Mike Conway they don’t “talk about what we do behind closed doors” and Rep. Peter King said, “I’m not going to talk about that.”
As they allegedly prepare a case, they have been advocating for a second Special Counsel to investigate the FBI and DoJ role in the dossier. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is considering appointing one to investigate...
