Federal prosecutors said Friday that the four co-defendants will instead face the possibility of life in prison for their alleged role in the killing of Capt. Kevin Quick.”

This was a state crime and they should only be facing state charges. The Federal government has no general police powers. The state DA dropped the death penalty back in the spring. The hypocrisy here is these so called "conservatives" calling for Federal charges in a state crime.
The Feds took over the case right or wrong.
