The left today hates free speech. They live is a fact-free echo chamber that only allows speech that agrees with their anti-western, victim ideology. In their view, the west is evil and any debate against that concept is essentially hate speech by Nazis.
They are so disconnected from reality and facts, they they still on some level understand that debate is not in their interest and therefore all speech that disagrees with their viewpoint must be shut down.
Speech to them is so abhorrent that they must meet it with violence.
Just remember, they started this.
