Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.
I moved from Vermont to South Carolina last September. During a recent discussion with a local it was suggested that I not continue my "Yankee voting" now that I had successfully escaped to a red state. Gee, it seems as though some folks in well run conservative areas are unhappy with this new trend where leftists arrive from their poorly run liberal areas and promptly begin polluting their new homes.
Really?? I must have turned 3 shades of red because that guy's expression sure changed when I (probably less than calmly) explained that I was pretty familiar with the fucking process since I had just spent the past 30 years or so witnessing firsthand the sad, frustrating and infuriating transformation of Vermont from a solidly red state to The People's Republik. From the ruination of the school system, more taxes than you can shake a stick at plus the stick, out of control regulation and a cost of living so high it's difficult to afford to live let alone retire there. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see that conservatives have noticed the trend and are at least attempting to counter it but without states like Vermont to learn from and point to as examples, YOU would be the fucking example. You're welcome.
One could consider themselves very conservative in their home state, say California. Yet in a free state they would be a leftist. This is explained by that they not only use their home state as a reference but they are inculcated to leftist dogma even though they consider themselves conservative. My advice to any who move from a worker's paradise to a free state (or large city to rural area) has always been to keep yer yap shut and eyes and ears open.
