#&--I've believed that for a long time, & it's why I never have a vet euthanize a pet. I was their king, maybe their god, and I have a duty. I should be with them until the last, comforting them, even though I'm about to end their lives--as painlessly & quickly as possible, but I owe them whatever comfort I can bring them.

I had the vet come to my house, and sat with my big fuzzy during the whole thing. It was hard for me, but it was probably just as hard for her.
