But, they are weak, too. Any real man can take any real woman, and do what he wants with her. Don't ever think that a gun completely negates that.
The most recent time, when starvation was so severe that cannibalism became a thing, the main targets were unwed younger women. Russia, WWII. And, yes, some of them were armed. Still, they were easy targets.
I'm sure it will all be spent on "security" and not spent on vacations, cars cloths, gifts etc. Also how big are their homes that they require that much to secure them. 2.5 mil buys a very luxurious home just about anywhere in the country.....
The 2.5 million is given to the Office of the Sgt. of Arms, for use by Senators to upgrade security at their homes. That's $25K per Senator. The Hill did a whole article on it....search on-line, you'll find it.

That 2.5 mill per member is for Senators, not House members.
