Just an FYI: ...RATTLESNAKES can swim REALLY WELL! I was a dock boy as a teenager. We moored the rental boats in the middle of large lake at night. It was one of my jobs to go out to the mooring at zero-dark-thirty and tow the strings of rentals in to the dock. More than once I found rattlesnakes curled up in the boats... a few HUNDRED yards from shore! ... And no, the weren't in the boats when they were towed out to the mooring the previous evening! ...That was my job as well...
