As far as I know, Trump burst onto the national scene in 1987 or so. The media kept him in the public's eye for his charity, enlarging the Trump brand, and of course, his dalliances with women. So it wasn't prescient of the musician to suggest Trump as president.
Too, while Trump may be a good man, its more that the politicians are so dastardly which paints him so favorably.
Trump tried to run his presidency as a business. In that sense he trusted his key men, those very same who gave advice meant to contain him, damaging his presidency and the country.
Locally we had a successful businessman get elected. He was a disaster. Trusted bad men, couldn't fire them as in a business, was successfully neutered, hung out to dry by the professional administrative types. Just as with Trump.
