Obama Considers Renaming The U.S. to "The Great Satan" After Renaming Mt. Mckinley, But Trump Says, Wait A Minute!

Don't change the maps yet! Donald Trump says he'll RE-rename 'Denali' back to Mt. McKinley if he's elected president.

  • Stripping William McKinley's name from America's tallest peak was a 'great insult to Ohio,' Trump tweeted
  • 'I will change [it] back!'
  • A gold prospector declared in the late 19th century that McKinley, then a presidential candidate, should have his name on the Alaskan mountain
  • Alaskans had already been referring to the peak as 'Denali' for centuries

There will be no Denali in a Donald Trump presidency, the billionaire promised on Monday, saying that he will restore the century-old name of Mount McKinley to America's highest peak if he wins the White House.

'President Obama wants to change the name of Mt. McKinley to Denali after more than 100 years,' Trump tweeted, saying it was a '[g]reat insult to Ohio' where the late President William McKinley hailed from.

'I will change [it] back!' he pledged.

Obama made the name-change official on Monday during a visit to Alaska, stripping the 25th U.S. president of the honor and reverting the mountain to a name nomadic Alaskan tribes had traditionally used.

Trump already has company in the anti-'Denali' camp.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a fellow Republican presidential contender, also came out against Obama's decision on Monday during a ...

Fiorina Says H1B Visa Program Changed Since Her Time At Hewlett Packard

PHILADELPHIA, PA. — Carly Fiorina thinks the foreign worker program used by Hewlett Packard and other companies in the past is something much different today than when she was running the tech giant.

The H1B visa program is under fire by some conservatives who say it allows for foreign workers to pilfer jobs from Americans. For years, companies defended the use of foreign labor through the H1B plan and even Fiorina fought for it as president of Hewlett Packard over a decade ago.

“There is no job that is America’s God-given right anymore,” Fiorina said in 2004, when she and other tech executives defended their decisions to move company jobs overseas.

When asked by The Daily Caller on Friday if she was concerned that her critics may use these actions against her, she responded that the H1B visa program has changed greatly since...

The leading GOP presidential candidate wants a ‘hire Americans first’ rule

Businessman Donald Trump's plan for the H-1B visa is to make it harder and more expensive for tech companies to replace U.S. workers with foreign help.

Trump's immigration plan, released Sunday, includes the ideas and thinking of some of the Senate's strongest H-1B critics. It was immediately endorsed by one senator.

"This is exactly the plan America needs," said Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala), the chair of the Senate's Immigration subcommittee, said in a statement Sunday regarding Trump's overall immigration policy proposal. "Not only would the plan outlined in this paper work, but more quickly than many realize."

The key things Trump is proposing for the H-1B visa include, first, an increase in the prevailing wage, making it more expensive to use H-1B workers. Many visa holders are paid the lowest prevailing wage level set for entry-level positions. Trump doesn't spell out his specific action plan, but some have argued for eliminating lower prevailing-wage levels altogether.

"Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas," wrote Trump.

Second, Trump wants a requirement that companies hire U.S. workers first. Critics says without this requirement...

How This New Government Ruling Destroys the Franchise Business Model

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) just issued a ruling likely to destroy the franchise business model.

To understand how far-reaching this could be, it should be noted that almost 9 million Americans work at over 780,000 franchised businesses.

From Jiffy Lube to Terminex to Wendy’s, franchises enable many Americans to run their own small businesses without having to design and market everything from scratch. Franchising is a particularly important opportunity for minority entrepreneurs.

Franchises are almost 50 percent more likely to be minority-owned than non-franchised businesses. If this ruling stands, minority Americans won’t get that chance.

The recent ruling will probably force local franchises to give up total control of day-to-day business decisions to their...
