Playing Politics With Border Security...

Panama and Costa Rica Governments Are Doing Smugglers' Job for Them

The Center for Immigration Studies sent a reporting team to Panama and Costa Rica where they investigated the policy of "controlled flow", in which the governments of Panama and Costa Rica are moving thousands of migrants — including many from terror-prone Middle Eastern countries — toward the U.S. southern border.

Todd Bensman, the Center's Senior National Security Fellow who led the CIS reporting team, said, "At a time when the U.S. government remains partially shut down because congressional leaders have dismissed President Trump's national security concerns at the border, these Central American governments have effectively become human smugglers. They are moving huge flows of migrants (including many Middle Easterners) northward to our border. I interviewed migrants from terror-prone countries, including Pakistan and Iran, who outlined to me step-by-step how the authorities in Panama and Costa Rica are helping transport them closer to the United States."

The "controlled flow" policy originated in 2016, when the Panamanian government experienced large flows of Haitian migrants, and encouraged them to travel north rather than stay in Panama. The Haitian wave of migrants has abated, but the policy remains in place, as outlined in the video below.

Leftist Media triggered by Trump-loving U.S. troops; CNN slammed for reporting autographs against the rules

CNN ran a widely criticized hit piece Wednesday accusing U.S. troops stationed in Iraq of violating certain Department of Defense guidelines.

Published hours after President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrived in Iraq for a surprise visit with U.S. troops stationed at Al Asad Air Base, the piece specifically complained about the troops asking the president to sign their “Make America Great Again” hats.

“But troops’ requests for the autographs could brush up against [DoD] guidelines for political activities,” the virulently left-wing network breathlessly reported.

“Those guidelines say that ‘active duty personnel may not engage in partisan political activities and all military personnel should avoid the inference that their political activities imply or appear to imply DoD sponsorship, approval, or endorsement of a political candidate, campaign, or cause.'”

CNN even took the time to ask certain “US military authorities” for comment. None reportedly replied.
The network did obtain a quote from retired Rear Adm. John Kirby, an Obama-era spokesperson.

“It is in fact a campaign slogan, that is a campaign item, and it is completely inappropriate for the troops to do this,” Kirby said. “Every time [Trump’s] around military audiences, he tends to politicize it, and he brings in complaints and grievances from outside the realm of military policy.”

This stunning hit piece was not well received on social media, where CNN has been pilloried nonstop for attacking America’s men and women in uniform.

NBC’s Christmas Attack on Trump Backfires Hours Later

A left-leaning mainstream media news outlet has egg — or should we say eggnog? — on its face after an article slamming President Donald Trump over Christmas ended up being off base just hours later.

On Christmas Day, NBC News published what can only be described as a hit piece, scorning the president for seemingly ignoring American troops during the holidays.

“Trump becomes first president since 2002 not to visit troops at Christmastime,” that outlet’s scolding headline declared.

“By staying home on Tuesday, Trump became the first president since 2002 who didn’t visit military personnel around Christmastime,” NBC declared in its article.

But there was a glaring problem: The above statement not only turned out to be false, it seems that NBC was in such a rush to smear Trump that its reporters tripped over themselves.

As we just reported, President Trump and his staff had been planning a major Christmas trip to Iraq all long.

“President Trump and the First Lady traveled to Iraq late on Christmas night to visit with our troops and Senior Military leadership to thank them for their service, their success, and their sacrifice and to wish them a Merry Christmas,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted on Wednesday.

“It was noted that the return trip from Iraq would make a stop at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where the Trumps will also visit with U.S. troops who are stationed there,” The Conservative Tribune reported.

That’s a lot of holiday troop visits for a president who was just slammed by the media as ignoring the troops.....

Border Patrol Arrests Previously Deported MS-13 Gang Members and Child Sex Offenders

In four separate incidents last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents arrested two MS-13 gang members and two convicted child sex offenders–all of whom had been previously deported.

The news comes on the heels of the president’s continued fight for stronger border security and funding for the border wall.

The Daily Mail reports that the arrests occurred in Arizona and Texas and took place last week.

The first arrest occurred last Tuesday, when agents arrested a Honduran national near Eagle Pass, Texas after he illegally crossed over the Rio Grande River. The man is a confirmed member of MS-13 and had been previously deported.

On Wednesday, also in Eagle Pass, agents arrested another Honduran national who was convicted of fondling a child in 2012 in New Jersey and was deported in 2013.

Also on Wednesday, Border Patrol arrested a Mexican national after he crossed the border illegally near Lukeville, Arizona. In 2002, the man had been convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Mesa.

On Thursday in Nogales, Arizona, CBP apprehended another MS-13 gang member who had also been previously removed from the country.

Yesterday, President Trump delivered a Christmas Day message where he reiterated his demands to obtain funding for the border wall. He remained steadfast in his claims that the partial government shutdown will remain in place “until we have a wall [or] fence.”

“While we’re fighting over funding, we’re also building, and it’s my hope to have this done, completed, all 500 to 550 miles, to have it...
