Dems Pushing Biden On Filibuster Ahead Of Gun Control Vote
As the House of Representatives prepares to take up several gun control measures, including a bill that would require background checks to be conducted on most private firearm transfers, activists and Democratic officials are pressing yet again for the Senate to scrap the legislative filibuster, which requires most bills to get 60 votes for approval instead of a simple majority.
The Washington Post is reporting that, at the moment, most of the pressure is on President Joe Biden to throw his weight behind the move, which would require the action of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer as well as the support of every Democrat senator.
Liberals have long pushed for sweeping changes like expanding the Supreme Court, ending the electoral college and banning gerrymandering. But as Biden faces a critical stretch of his presidency, even moderate Democrats are urging more immediate changes – particularly rewriting the filibuster, so that at the very least fewer bills need 60 votes to pass the Senate.That may be one of the dumbest statements to ever come out of the U.S. Capitol, which is saying a lot. The filibuster is there for a simple reason; the Senate is supposed be the more deliberative of the two legislative chambers. Those involved in writing the Constitution made that fact crystal clear at the time in the years after the Constitution was ratified:
Democrats increasingly worry that popular pieces of Biden’s agenda will hit a wall in the Senate, including his plans for climate change, immigration, gun control, voting rights and LGBT protections. Failing to enact them, they fear, could be a political disaster for Democrats as well as a substantive one.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., a centrist, said Wednesday she wants to “get rid of the filibuster,” her toughest comments to date on the matter. By Thursday, Sen. Tina Smith, D-Minn., announced on via social media that she, too, now wants to abolish the filibuster, because “the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the filibuster has long been the enemy of progress.”

Australian Reporters Angered by Request to Stop Using the Word “Pedophile” to Describe Accused Serial Child Molester
Might upset other pedophiles.
Australian reporters working for ABC Tasmania were angered when they were advised by top brass to stop using the word “pedophile” to refer to an accused serial child molester because it could discourage other pedophiles from seeking help.
“Oh, won’t someone think of the poor pedophiles!”
A senior producer at the network informed employees that Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) had “mentioned their concerns” about describing former nurse James Geoffrey Griffin as a pedophile.
Griffin, who subsequently committed suicide, was accused by numerous women of sexually abusing them as children and police later found “a significant amount of child exploitation material” during a search of his home.
“We should avoid [the term pedophile], unless we know he had a clinical diagnosis of paedophilia and instead use serial sexual offender / predator, or a sexual abuser of children and young people,” the producer wrote in an email.
The missive also cited the SASS in advising that there are many “people with paedophilia” who “do not act on those impulses,” if they “reach out for and receive professional psychological help.”
The producer claimed that labeling Griffin a pedophile “could discourage” non-offending pedophiles “from seeking help, making it more likely that they go on to abuse children.”
Reporters were apparently “concerned and angered” by the email and were later told by the network that the word “pedophile” hadn’t been banned but that the SASS’s advice should be considered.
Some respondents saw this as yet another example of how society is becoming increasingly tolerant of pedophilia, which some on the far-left have tried to re-define as an alternative sexual orientation.
“Yes, by all means, let’s not hurt pedophiles feelings,” remarked one.
“This is what happens to empires/societies that live too soft too long and don’t face enough adversity or threats to its existence,” added another. “They go weird and can’t even call a spade a spade.”
Last summer, a controversy erupted when Netflix released Cuties, a movie that depicts underage children in a sexually exploitative manner.
However, many on the left defended the movie, claiming it highlighted the problem of sexually exploiting children.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, one of former President Donald Trump’s strongest allies in Congress, takes a special interest in fighting to keep the residents of his state — and across America — from the dangerous influx of illegal immigrants pouring over the border.
His next fight will reportedly be a proposal for the Democrats’ “American Rescue Plan” that would take away any stimulus check payments to illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States. He expressed great concern over the Biden administration seemingly prioritizing illegals on the same level as American, law-abiding citizens.

Big Tech is Getting 15 Percent Discount to Hire Foreign Workers over Americans
ORLANDO, Florida — Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) warned that big tech companies are incentivized to hire foreign workers over Americans as he discussed President Joe Biden’s immigration agenda during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Gosar highlighted continuing visa programs he says “don’t work,” particularly the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program for crowding Americans out of tech jobs while tech corporations profit.
In 2019, Gosar introduced legislation titled the “Fairness for High Skilled Americans Act” to end the OPT program as Americans cannot be hired through the program.
“I’m one of the big people talking about OPT, which is the Optional Practical Training program, that Congress never authorized,” Gosar said in reference to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) running the program on its own accord instead of enacting the program through Congress.
“This is an unkept intrusion of foreign workers that gives benefits to people like big tech to bring in folks from China, and from Pakistan, and from India, and one of the problems that exists here is that you get a 15.5 percent discount to hire them over American citizens,” Gosar said. “That 15.5 percent discount is the FICA [Federal Insurance Contribution Act] withholding tax that puts money into Social Security and Medicare.”
Indeed, the OPT program provides a tax incentive, and thus a subsidy paid for by American taxpayers, for corporations to hire foreign workers over Americans. Every year, about half a million foreign students enrolled in U.S. universities secure American white-collar jobs through the OPT program.
Corporations such as Amazon, Google, Deloitte, and Intel employ thousands of OPT foreign workers over American STEM graduates every year — reaping a more than 15 percent discount because the employers can evade at least $20 billion to $30 billion in FICA taxes over the years.
As Breitbart News has reported, there are nearly 500,000 Chinese students in the U.S. in any given year — more than any other nation — taking seats in university classrooms and looking to eventually obtain OPT authorization to take entry-level jobs in white-collar professions.
Gosar said the OPT program, by exempting employers and foreign workers from paying FICA taxes, is increasing Medicare’s insolvency.
“Isn’t it interesting now that we just got the new numbers for the insolvency of Medicare coming up shortly in 2024,” Gosar said. “These are people not putting in, or these companies are not putting that money into those programs, and yet they’ll be eligible down the road to get that, so it’s a double-dipping. So we have to highlight what doesn’t work.”
The OPT program shifts billions in economic wealth every year out of middle America and into coastal cities. OPT beneficiaries pay billions in tuition and fees, a boon for U.S. universities.

It’s because those idiot rioters had finally — after months and years of left-wing riots here and across the country — finally given Democratic lawmakers and the corporate media the right-wing riot they always claimed was around the corner.
It’s because panic porn and agitprop are useful tools when you’re working as hard as you can to spread fear and distrust against the half of the country that disagrees with your policies.
And it’s because acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman is perfectly content to use her own men and women as political pawns and scapegoats to please her new Democratic bosses.
Just as with “two weeks to slow the spread,” on Capitol Hill we were told one month to stop the “insurrection.” Then three weeks in, the acting Capitol Police chief requested that fencing remain permanently, a sort of replacement for providing the training and enforcing the standards that are expected of police departments across America.
In the following weeks, reporters at outlets like Politico thirstily spread rumors from unnamed “Guard members” that March 4 was the day the militias would finally come back. Except this time, instead of tens of thousands of people flying and driving to the capital for a widely advertised protest with nearly zero preparation for crowd control, there was internet “chatter” about something maybe happening to a building people can’t walk within 100 yards of because it’s surrounded with razor wire and thousands of National Guardsmen.
