Remember, in general, the DOJ and FBI spying on American citizens should automatically be met with MAJOR skepticism. That's what the Fourth Amendment is designed to protect against. When those American citizens are ALSO political opponents? It should raise even more red flags.

Quite simply: This infamous "Russian Dossier" was unverified political opposition research paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC. If the Department of Justice used information like that as a key part of getting a surveillance warrant, it would be a HUGE problem

After a week of intense speculation, Speaker Paul Ryan has backed President Trump's wish to release the infamous "FISA Memo" on Friday (despite Nancy Pelosi's demands that its main architect, House Intel Committee Chair Devin Nunes, be moved from his position), the president pushed back against accusations that he's politicized federal law enforcement, claiming that the FBI's leadership is truly to blame.

"The top Leadership and Investigators of the FBI and the Justice Department have politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans - something which would have been unthinkable just a short time ago. Rank & File are great people!," the president said in the first of two tweets.

In the second, he included a quote from Judicial Watch head Tom Fitton about the Democratic skullduggery that was involved in the creation and funding of the memo, which may have been used improperly by the FBI to secure a FISA warrant against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Republican leaders have pushed back against Democrats' objections by calling for increased transparency at the law enforcement agencies.

As reported on Thursday, Trump reportedly has viewed the memo and been briefed on its contents. Once he signs off, it will be up to Nunes and his peers to deliver the final OK.

The American economy is on track to grow at a 5.4 percent annualized rate in the first quarter of this year, the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDPNow forecast model showed on Monday.

The regional Fed’s forecast rose from last week’s 4.2 percent growth following a report on manufacturing that showed more expansion than expected. The forecast of real consumer spending growth rose from 3.1 percent to 4.0 percent, while the forecast of investment growth soared from 5.2 percent to 9.2 percent.

This is an early reading, based on just one-months data. Even the most optimistic economists do not expect the economy to expand at that rate in the first quarter.

Both the Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow and the New York Fed’s Nowcast had readings for the fourth quarter of 2017 that were substantially higher than the official initial estimate, which came in at a 2.6 percent annual growth rate.

State Residents Looking at $147 Mil in Energy Savings Thanks to Trump Tax Cut

Because of the tax reform bill President Donald Trump signed into law last year over Democrat opposition, Iowa residents may soon see a reduction in their heating and cooling bills.

By lowering the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent, the new tax law is saving businesses of all stripes millions of dollars, and according to the The Des Moines Register, utility companies in Iowa intend to share their savings with their customers by either lowering rates or providing a “tax rider.”

MidAmerican Energy is expected to share savings of between $90.8 million and $112.3 million with customers, while Interstate Power & Light is looking to share savings of between $18.6 million and $19.6 million.

“Alliant’s gas customers could have between $500,000 and $3.7 million returned to them,” the Register’s report continued. “Black Hills Energy would return $1.6 million to its gas customers, the only service it provides in Iowa. And Iowa-American Water Co., which provides service in eastern Iowa, would provide $1.5 million and $1.8 million to customers.”

Combined, this reportedly comes out to a potential $147 million in savings. And all because the president signed a tax reform bill that both liberal Democrats and their allies in the media claimed would rob the working class to benefit the wealthy.

If this is what it means to be robbed, then someone please rob me!

There was an unspoken question as Donald Trump mounted the podium for last night’s State of the Union message: Is Robert Mueller’s endless investigation aimed at impeaching the wrong President?

The breathless back-and-forth news reporting from the nation’s capital last week focused on the four-page memo — long classified and unreleased — written by GOP members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). That memo and three major congressional investigations, according to University of Chicago professor Charles Lipson, “center on credible allegations that the FBI and DOJ fixed the investigation of Hillary Clinton to clear her and her top associates, and then launched an investigation of Donald Trump for partisan political reasons.”

Among the possible constellation of federal crimes: high-level corruption and obstruction of justice; using a fraudulent “Russian dossier” to obtain FISA warrants to wiretap incoming Trump administration personalities; the equally illegal unmasking and leaking of their identities; and the free-swinging use of “sources and methods” by the nation’s intelligence agencies to go after political opponents of the deep state.

All of these are, at best, unproven allegations to this point. Earlier today, the FBI issued a statement of warning that releasing the memo gives a false impression. They claim it must not be released and say they have “grave concerns.”

House Intel Chair Devin Nunes issued a fiery response in two statements. In his second response, he said: “The memo contains all the relevant facts on FISA abuse. After fighting our demands for these documents for months, the FBI and DoJ now seem to be going through a series of increasingly ridiculous, increasingly desperate excuses to avoid transparency.”

The FBI sent five agents to House Intelligence to alter the memo. They are doing it to conceal the facts. They have obfuscated and refused to release data non-stop.

We need the original memo released!

Migrants found with multi-resistant tuberculosis pathogens

Scientists confirmed the outbreak of a multi-resistant strain of tuberculosis. It was discovered in 29 migrants who had come to Germany via the Horn of Africa.

Tuberculosis, which had been declining for many years, has made a comeback. This is what the Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI) in Berlin announced at World Tuberculosis Day 2017, pointing the current migration movements as a new vector in spreading the disease.

Researchers from the National Reference Centre (NRZ) at Borstel, have discovered a Europe-wide outbreak of a multi-resistant strain of tuberculosis, Die Welt reported. The strain showed a remarkable resistance to at least four different antibiotics.

The increase of cases involving persons with a migration background have compelled NRZ scientists to conduct further research.

Migrants are generally screened for communicable diseases on entry, a requirement as stated in paragraph 62 of German Asylum Law (AsylG). This includes an X-ray of the respiratory tract, which can determine a tuberculosis infection. But only ten percent of the people who are infected with the pathogen become ill — half of them in the first year after infection, the other half even later.

Since the law for protection against infection (IfSG) was introduced in January 2001, numerous characteristics of each tuberculosis patient were recorded and, in anonymised form, transferred by the 400 health offices in Germany via the 16 state offices to the Robert Koch Institute.

The research center at Borstel made their findings known in the professional journal The Lancet for Infectious Diseases when researchers from Schleswig-Holstein and their colleagues at the National Reference Center for Mycobacteria (NZM) in Switzerland identified a hitherto unknown tuberculosis pathogen in 2016.

The journal is recognised for providing a global, authoritative, and independent forum for the highest quality infectious diseases research and opinion, covering such areas as antibiotic resistance, emerging infections, and public health.

The molecular-biological examination in combination with patient interviews enabled the scientists to partially reconstruct the chain of infection. The data pointed to infection before the arrival in Europe, in a Libyan refugee camp at Bani Walid.

Tax Reform Is Delivering Results

President Trump is right. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is providing tremendous relief for the American people.

Within less than a month of the bill signing, over 260 businesses across all industries announced raises, bonuses, and new investments directly benefiting over 3 million Americans. Next month, almost every American worker will have a larger paycheck thanks to tax reform.

Tax reform is expected to result in hundreds of thousands of new jobs and wage increases for American workers of all income levels. Down from 35 percent—one of the highest in the world—the U.S. now has a globally competitive corporate tax rate of 21 percent, which will lead to even more jobs, higher salaries, and increased economic opportunities for Americans for years to come.

However, there is still work to be done. Many of the individual and business tax cuts expire before 2026, providing an opportunity for big government to raise taxes rather than cut spending. Congress and the president must work to make the tax cuts permanent for American taxpayers.

Most Americans Will Receive a Tax Cut

Most Americans now have lower tax rates, allowing them to save more and invest in their family’s futures. President Trump highlighted a typical family making $75,000. They will see their tax bill cut in half.

To illustrate the size of the tax cuts, meet the Joneses. They have three kids and a mortgage. As a sales rep and a part-time nurse, they currently earn $75,000 a year. Under the new bill, they can keep an extra $2,000 of their hard-earned money to invest in their children’s future.

Their neighbor Tom Wong is a teacher earning $50,000. About 10 percent of that currently goes to taxes, but under the new bill, he can expect a $1,100 savings. More than 80 percent of Americans receive a tax cut.

The Fernandez family, who run a family-owned blinds and shades business, will also get a tax cut. This year, their hard work paid off and their company earned $250,000. Now, they can invest an extra $13,000 in growing their business. They can also raise wages and give out bonuses to their employees instead of handing the money over to the government.

When Washington takes less of the American people’s money, everyone wins.

Small Business Deduction Should Be Replaced With Lower Rates

President Trump highlighted the new 20 percent pass-through business deduction, one of the few parts of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that should not be extended.

Small and pass-through businesses that pay their taxes as individuals and face the new lower individual tax rates will receive a newly created deduction.

Although lower marginal tax rates for small and pass-through businesses are an important component of economic growth, the newly created discrepancy in top rates between individual income and small and pass-through business income will increase the incentives to treat income from wages artificially as business income.

This new tax privilege has no consistent policy rationale, arbitrarily favors certain types of businesses over others, introduces new complexity, and will provide new opportunities for unproductive tax planning. When the business deduction expires in 2025, Congress should not extend it and instead focus on further lowering individual tax rates to treat all income sources equally.

Tangible Effects of the Tax Law

The president talked about how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will soon result in higher paychecks for the overwhelming majority of American workers.

In fact, some have already experienced a significant change in their after-tax pay. That is because the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act’s lower rates and a higher child tax credit will provide higher disposable incomes. (See these examples of how the revised tax system will affect different workers’ and retirees’ annual incomes after taxes.)

Simpler Taxes for Individuals

The president emphasized how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will help ordinary, working-class Americans. In addition to higher take-home pay, the new tax law will also simplify taxes for tens of millions of Americans.

By replacing some existing deductions and exemptions with a higher standard deduction and lower tax rates, many workers will spend less time keeping track of tax records and filing their tax returns. They may even be able to save the cost of paying an accountant to help with their taxes.

We estimated that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will cut the number of taxpayers who itemize by more than half, saving between 21 and 28 million Americans the hassle of keeping track of and itemizing their deductions.

No More Individual Mandate Tax

As the president highlighted, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act got rid of a tax that fell most heavily on individuals and families making less than $50,000 per year.

Eliminating the Obamacare individual mandate will reduce the tax bills of many individuals and families—based on their own choices—by hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. And most importantly...

Here’s the Pentagon’s response to California teacher that bashed the military

The Pentagon responded to comments made by a California high school teacher that can be heard on video slamming the men and women who serve in the U.S. military.

Pentagon Spokeswoman Amber Smith said the comments made by El Rancho High School teacher and city council member Gregory Salcido were “uninformed.”

“I have seen maybe a few things that he said that were very uninformed, and I think that’s an excellent example of who we would like to connect with, and inform them with an accurate image of those who are serving and why they serve,” Smith said, The Washington Examiner reported.

Salcido’s comments stemmed from seeing a student wearing a Marines sweatshirt in class. A student in the classroom recorded the teacher’s rant on their phone and the video has now reached more than 6.7 million views.

“Think about the people you know who are over there. Your freakin’ stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumb sh*ts. They’re not high-level bankers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people. They’re the lowest of the low. They’re not talented people,” the teacher says in the video.

In the videos, the male teacher goes on a rant for several minutes. He says he doesn’t know how anyone ends up joining the military.

“It’s because you have no other options,” the teacher says.

While constantly berating the military and those who serve, the teacher also asks why anyone would “wear something you can’t even support.”

“Don’t you ever bring the military into this again,” he says. “We don’t let pimps into school. Is anyone interested in being a hoe? … They’re going to lie to you.”

American Military News spoke to the student’s mother, who confirmed that her son took videos of the teacher’s rant during class.

His mother’s friend, Kimberlie Flauto, posted the videos to Facebook asking the community to help them go viral.

The student who was wearing the Marine sweatshirt in the classroom said he was called out in class to find out why he was interested in joining the Marine Corps.

“And I told him it was a family tradition,” the student said, ABC News reported. “My dad’s done it, my two uncles have done it. And I just wanted to continue that tradition because it’s also something I wanted to do as a kid. And he said so if it was a family tradition to beat women, would you continue it too?”

Salcido has been removed from all committees on the Pico Rivera City Council, according to a local CBS station in Los Angeles.

Release The MEMO!

Would the political class be trying so hard to discredit the Nunes memo if it didn’t terrify them?

There’s getting to be a backlash among certain conservatives, mainly of the #NeverTrump variety, against the idea that there’s really a serious matter to be uncovered in the case of the FISA wiretap application for Carter Page, and in the attempts to cover up the documents related to it.

The thinking goes like this: Paranoid Trump superfans see some sinister deep state conspiracy in everything! Missing text messages! Unreleased memos! These nutcases are so off the rails, they’re convinced they’re going to find something “worse than Watergate”! What fruitcakes.

I’ve been using the term “worse than Watergate” for months in reference to this, and apparently that’s now being turned against me and people like me by those on the right who never liked Trump to begin with and want to remain acceptable in polite society.

Let’s be clear about what “worse than Watergate” means and why it’s been used by me and others: The Watergate scandal was about people associated with the Nixon re-election campaign breaking into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and planting listening devices in the hope they could get some useful information to wield against George McGovern in the 1972 presidential campaign. The commission of a burglary against your presidential opponent so you could plant a listening device is obviously a crime and a massive scandal. The ensuing attempts to Nixon and others to cover it up only made the scandal worse.

Now, let’s fast-forward: We know that in 2016, during the Obama Administration, the FBI applied for a FISA warrant to wiretap Carter Page, who was an official of the Trump presidential campaign. There are multiple indications that the primary evidence presented as probable cause in this application was a dossier prepared by Christopher Steele, who was working for an outfit called Fusion GPS, which was being paid - albeit indirectly - by the Clinton campaign. It also appears that almost all the information in this dossier was unverified, and that much of it was false, and that the FBI made no attempt to verify any of it before using it in the FISA application.

If all this is true, I believe that is worse than Watergate for this reason: While the Nixon campaign used private citizens to commit a crime, and that’s a very bad thing, the scenario laid out above would mean that the Obama Administration, via the Justice Department and specifically the FBI, abused a law enforcement mechanism of the federal government - feeding it false information to obtain...
