Female driver easily smuggles illegals into US, until horse trailer overturns in middle of California highway

A band of illegal bandits wound up in police custody Saturday afternoon after the horse trailer that had been carrying them crashed into the ground along Interstate 8 near the southern California border town of Campo.

The crash specifically occurred after the smuggler-driven Ford F-250 truck pulling the horse trailer began to fishtail, the California Highway Patrol told the The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The smuggler lost control of the truck, causing it to drift off the highway and come unfastened from the horse trailer.

When CHP officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that a number of illegals and the driver had fled. Enough remained that the officers dialed up U.S. Border Patrol.

Two illegal immigrant women and four illegal immigrant men were subsequently transported to local hospitals for treatment. Others were treated at the scene and put into custody.

It’s unclear exactly how many illegals were arrested. CHP claimed 18 were arrested, while Border Patrol put it at 19.

The use of tractors to smuggle illegals has become commonplace.

Just three months earlier Border Patrol agents working near the Texas border town of Laredo discovered a tractor-trailer with an astonishing 76 illegals from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, as reported at the time by the San Antonio Express-News.

It’s been a year since Dr. Ben Carson was confirmed as Secretary for Housing and Urban Development. For most of its existence HUD is the cabinet-level agency probably best known for management challenges and the occasional corruption scandal involving local government officials abusing funds.

Liberals love HUD, because it hands out billions of dollars in the name of social justice. Not coincidentally, the money is often hard to account for, which is why it often ends up in the pocket of corrupt officials.

HUD has a long history of mismanagement and neglect. The agency’s financial statements are such a mess that the agency’s own Inspector General couldn’t complete an internal audit of the agency’s books. In fact, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report in 2016, based on numerous HUD IG and GAO audits over a 15-year period, in which it reported that the agency failed to implement multiple financial accountability recommendations. Additionally, the agency seemingly ignored recommendations to dedicate staff and implement and enforce policies to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.

This level of institutional corruption is the very essence of the swamp. And indeed, the swamp dwellers are fighting to keep things the way they were.

Then Ben Carson moved in and started turning things around.

President Donald Trump’s new budget for Fiscal Year 2019 proposes to eliminate more than $4 billion in HUD grants, believing the money would be better managed, and more effective, if it originated at the state and local level. At the same time, Secretary Carson is implementing a culture of accountability and financial responsibility that the agency hasn’t experienced in years. This began with the hiring of a former partner with one of the big four accounting firms to serve as the agency’s chief financial officer. This vital role has not had a permanent occupant for more than a decade. The Secretary then directed the CFO to design and implement a transformation plan and lead an internal task force to combat waste, fraud, and abuse.

The secretary also set the agency on course to manage its existing resources in an accountable manner.

From the standpoint of swamp dwellers, accountable and lower HUD budgets are intolerable. However, Ben Carson is a very smart black conservative leader who understands the importance of applying conservative principles to our nation’s housing and urban planning needs. Nevertheless, the stakes are high. If he succeeds as an administrator in whipping HUD into shape, the progressive left will be humiliated. DOBSON, NC (The Mount Airy News) – A Dobson woman has received a $3.2 million bond and her boyfriend a $2 million bond after a recent drug raid.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t sure if that was a record for highest local bond, but it is at least the largest in the past few years.

The Sheriff’s Office tactical team led a raid at 158 Gatehouse Lane, in the Jenkinstown community south of Dobson.

The resident, Olivia Ramirez-Hernandez, 49, is being charged with the following:

• Eight counts of felony trafficking meth;

• One count of felony maintaining a drug dwelling;

• One count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Juan Clemente, 38, of neighboring 182 Gatehouse Lane, is charged with the following:

• Two counts of felony trafficking meth;

• One count of felony maintaining a drug dwelling;

• Two counts to felony conspire to traffic meth;

• One count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that if Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein does not turn over the unredacted documents requested by Congress related to FISA, FBI and more then impeachment could be in order.

“Rod Rosenstein can call Michael Horowitz, who has the documents, and say just give them to Congress. If he doesn’t do that … there is a growing consensus of holding them in contempt of Congress, but it’s not enough to stop there. We have to have someone willing to do the job. If the deputy attorney general is not willing to do it and not willing to allow us to have our Constitutional Oversight Authority supported, then we’ll find someone who can,” said Meadows on Fox News Channel’s “Justice.”

He added, “I think that if he does not turn over the documents, that there are a growing number of us on Capitol Hill who believe that someone else needs to do the job. And what happens there is, Constitutionally, we have some things that we can do.”

Czech media are reporting that the female victim was attacked in the city’s famous old town on Easter Sunday, the Irish Post reported.

Czech police spokesman Jan Danek said one of the attackers invited the woman back to his room where the Algerian and five of his compatriots gang raped her.

According to Danek the six have been arrested and placed in custody on suspicion of rape. He descibed the alleged rapists as young Algerians born between 1994 and 1998.

“On Monday at 7am the woman called the police and reported to them that she was raped in a hostel at Naprstkova Street,” Danek told the Irish Times.

“The police assault team then came to the place and arrested all the men.” A video of the dramatic Czech assault team arrests have been released on YouTube.

Members of the Special Order Unit can be heard ordering those inside to open the door. But the doors in the Hotel in Naprstkove St. in the centre of Prague, behind which the six Algerians are thought to be hiding, remained closed.

“The door could not be opened, not even with the spare key, and nobody responded to the call-out, which is why the door was taken out with the ram,” commented the police spokesman.

Czech media obtained the police footage showing armed officers in masks and helmets breaking down a door in the hostel and arresting several suspects lying face-down on the floor, counting them before dragging them off.

The suspects appeared before a Prague court on Thursday. All six have denied the charges against them.

The Irish victim, who has not been named, told the court that she had feared for her life during her ordeal.

The 35-year-old victim said she did not praise the Algerian’s intimate performance sufficiently, which clearly did not please the Algerian.

“Following this, the man brought over five more of his friends, which is when the aforementioned rape is said to have taken place,” Danek explained. The woman reportedly attempted to dissuade the attackers by claiming that she was a teacher, but it did not help. She closed her eyes during the terrible ordeal.

“I could feel as they were switching on me… I was very afraid. I was terrified, I felt horrible, that I am stupid, very mad… I thought they were going to kill me,” she related her feelings to the criminal investigators, according to the Czech daily Pravo.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTHR) – The man accused of stabbing two others Saturday night is in the country illegally.

Christian Ortez, 35, first came into the country illegally from El Salvador in September 2016 near Hidalgo, Texas, according to Nicole Alberico, a spokesperson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Border officers caught him and arrested him immediately, but he was released a month later after posting bond.

Eight months after that, an immigration judge ordered he be deported back to El Salvador, but he skipped the hearing and authorities couldn’t find him.

Police first found the stabbing victims just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of La Fontaine Court. That’s not far from John Marshall High School.

Both were taken to the hospital, one stable, the other in critical condition. The man in critical condition later passed away.

Detectives found out Ortez had run into a nearby apartment. SWAT officers came to help, went into the apartment and arrested him on charges of aggravated battery and murder.

At least three people were killed and 20 others were injured Saturday after a van drove into a crowd of pedestrians in front of a popular bar in the German city of Muenster, police said.

The driver of the van shot himself to death following the crash, Andreas Bode, a police spokesman, told reporters. Officers said a suspicious object was found inside the van and they were still investigating what it is and if it is dangerous. Police said the main reason the area was cordoned off was due to the suspicious object.

According to WGCL News, Sheriff Mike Jolley of Harris County, Georgia put up the sign a few years ago but it’s now going viral online. The reason? Well, take a look at its message.

CLEVELAND, OH (Fox 8 News) – The FOX 8 I-Team has found a man thrown out of the U.S. three times somehow made it back here again, and he now faces a charge of sexually assaulting a child in Cleveland.

Felony sex charges are pending in Cuyahoga County Court against Antonio Barrera.

The federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency says Barrera was deported to Mexico three times between 2007-2008.

Last December, Cleveland police say he sexually assaulted a child on the city’s east side. Investigators say the victim was a relative.

Thursday, the victim’s mother told the I-Team she walked in on the attack. She told us Barrera had been living there with relatives and working at a factory. And, his past was no secret.

The victim’s mother said, “Yes, we all knew he didn’t have papers.”

The I-Team has also obtained handwritten letters sent to the court signed with the name Antonio Barrera. He doesn’t speak English. But the letters are written in English. One asks for drug treatment instead of prison. The other asks for a trial. Both talk about Mexico.

One letter says, “I want to take my case to a jury trial then go home to Mexico, no more under the tunnels.”

Dozens Of EPA Employees Caught With Encrypted Apps On Their Government Phones

At least sixty EPA employees installed encrypted messaging applications on their government-issued phones and tablets in violation of agency rules, according to newly released documents.

EPA employs installed encrypted apps Signal and WhatsApp, as well as sixteen other messaging applications, on government cell phones, documents obtainedby the Cause of Action Institute (COA) show.

Records show EPA employees also installed personal applications, including “email, sports betting, dating, and entertainment applications” that COA says “raise questions about the use of government-issued and taxpayer-funded mobile devices for personal purposes.”

“[I]t appears that most of these applications were never authorized for work-related business,” COA counsel Ryan Mulvey wrote. “To the extent they were used for personal purposes, the EPA should take its workforce to task for abusing the privilege of a government-furnished and taxpayer-funded phone.”

COA began its investigation in 2017 after Politico reported a small group of EPA employees were using the encrypted app Signal to strategize against the Trump administration. Employees reportedly wanted their conversations to be kept secret, sparking transparency concerns.

House Republicans demanded EPA’s Office of Inspector General (IG) investigate the matter and the the National Archives and Records Administration has an open investigation into potential mishandling of records.

EPA investigators did look into the matter and released their findings in a series of memos made public by COA as part of Freedom of Information Act requests and lawsuits. The IG found two EPA employees had Signal installed on their phones but determined they were not used to “purposefully circumvent the applicable Federal record retention rules.”

Those two employees, however, still violated EPA policy by downloading unapproved applications to government-issued devices, the IG claimed. Investigators also found fifty-eight other EPA employees had government phones with the encrypted messaging app WhatsApp.

Every year, the White House press corps throws itself a gaudy party oozing with excess. Known as the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner, the event has turned into a week long party overflowing with booze and, weirdly, even corporate sponsorship.

And just like last year, President Trump wants no part of the mess.

"The White House has informed us that the president does not plan to participate in this year's dinner," WHCA President Margaret Talev said in a statement. Instead, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders will "represent the administration at the head table," Talev said.

The White House press corps is overpopulated by the heavily liberal mainstream media. And like in year's past, the MSM will laud and praise members of the MSM. At this year's dinner on April 28, the association will honor CNN with its biggest award for the liberal network's January 2017 report on how the intelligence community believed Russia had compromising information on Trump.

The dinner has a long history, and usually, the president of the United States roasts the media in a good-hearted way. But the event became more and more partisan during the two terms of George W.
