Four footballers killed by heart attacks over Christmas

The deaths of a Croatian soccer player (23 years old), an Omani (29), an Egyptian (23) and an Algerian (30) happened in the wake of the sudden retirement of Argentinian player Sergio Agüero . Agüero suffered chest pains and dizziness during a match in October and the star striker had been benched for three months.

Last week was particularly tragic for world football. Four footballers died of heart attacks on the pitch, while disappointment at the sudden retirement of Sergio Agüero due to heart problems continued.

The first victim was the young Croatian player, Marín Cacic, 23, who died in the hospital where he was in an induced coma three days after fainting on the field while playing the Christmas Tournament in his native municipality, Gospic.

According to local media Sportske Novosti, Cacic felt unwell in the middle of the game, and as he left, he collapsed. An ambulance immediately transported him to the Gospic hospital where they resuscitated him. He was then transferred to the Rijeka hospital, the third largest city in Croatia, where he died. The cause of death was a heart attack.

“Marín had been healthy until now, and examined regularly, before he came to play in Italy and Slovakia,” said his father.

A day later, 29-year-old Omani soccer player Mukhaled Al-Raqadi died of a heart attack. He collapsed in the pre-match warm-up between the Muscat and Al-Suwaiq clubs. Both teams had been busy preparing for the sixth round of the Omani national championship.

Al-Raqadi had been warming up with his teammate, and then suddenly fell down on the pitch. According to the Omani press, the temperature was above 28 degrees Celsius, and many initially thought he had fainted due to the heat. But the player had been used to playing in high temperatures.

He was transferred to a hospital, but efforts to revive him failed. He passed away from a heart attack. The match was suspended after he was taken to the hospital.

The Egyptian third division club goalkeeper, Ahmed Amin, also passed away after suddenly fainting during training for his team.

According to the digital edition in English of Middle East.in-24, and Ahmed Abdel Aziz, the technical director of the team, Amin had just finished his training session when he collapsed in the locker room. The doctor tried unsuccessfully to revive him and an ambulance was called. At the nearest hospital, doctors again tried to revive him but he died of heart failure only a few hours after the death of Al-Raqadi.

Last Saturday, Algerian footballer Sofiane Loukar also passed away during a...

South Pole records its coldest six months stretch, as Arctic Sea ice volume expands, nearing 20-year record

The South Pole just recorded its coldest six month stretch since 1976. Arctic Sea ice volume is currently breaking 20-year records. Chunks of ice are interfering with shipping routes in the Siberian Sea. There are signs that the Earth is entering a time of rapid cooling. Indeed, the climate is ever-changing, but the causes and effects propagated by the corporate media couldn’t be further from the truth.
Global warming alarmists have been capitalizing on lies for decades

For decades, global warming alarmists have been lying to the public about rising temperatures and impending “end of the world” scenarios. Back in 2007, U.S. scientists claimed that the arctic would be completely “ice-free” within “5-6 years” and would cause a catastrophic rise in sea level. The report was published by the BBC. At the time, Professor Wieslaw Maslowski from the U.S. Navy, Department of Oceanography said the report was too conservative, and that the poles would be completely “ice-free by the summer of 2013.”

When 2013 came around, the end of the world never came, polar ice remained intact, and the sea did not rise. Coastal communities were safe. But it didn’t take long for a new breed of climate alarmists to take up the mantle of climate doom propaganda. In 2010, Mark Sereezer, the newly appointed senior scientist at the US government’s Snow and Ice Data Center was famously quoted as saying: “the Arctic is screaming.” Today, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) joins a chorus of Democrats who screech that we’re only 10-12 years away from an end of the world climate catastrophe.

Fast forward to 2021, and governments are meeting to discuss ways to prevent a cataclysmic climate catastrophe that just never seems to materialize. Even though the global warming predictions continue to be exposed as hysteria, propaganda and scientific maleficence, governments want to use this narrative as an opportunity to control economies, tax the people, engineer the...

The 'Squad' Joins the China Appeasement Caucus

The 'Squad' of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, and Rep. Cori Bush, already full-time members of the Hamas caucus, expanded their horizons by joining the Communist China appeasement caucus.

Earlier this year, Kerry visited China and returned bearing a warning from his old masters that unless the United States dropped President Trump’s sanctions on the Communist regime over its slave labor, and on China’s military hackers stealing our technology, there would be no deals on global warming. The Xi regime also demanded that America allow its Confucius Institute front groups to conduct infiltration on American campuses, ban pro-democracy protests outside its consulates, and allow it to repress Hong Kong, and conquer Taiwan without any interference.

After his latest treasonous expedition, Kerry became the loudest voice of appeasement even in an administration that was already appeasing the Taliban, Iran, Russia, and China. The Communist regime aided Kerry by undermining other administration envoys, keeping up the pressure from the outside even as Hanoi John and his allies applied pressure from the inside.

Last month it was reported that Congressional allies were circulating a letter urging “U.S. collaboration with China” and insisting that, “There is no conceivable way to address the climate crisis without substantially strengthening communication and collaboration between our nations.” In a treasonous Freudian slip, they couldn’t stop calling it what it was, “collaboration”.

Who would possibly sign a letter like that? Even most Democrats wouldn’t “collaborate”.

But the Squad was thrilled to collaborate. So were the usual mix of House radical leftists like Rep. Jerrold Nadler, Rep. Ro Khanna, Rep. Ted Lieu, Rep. Katie Porter, Rep. Andy Levin, Rep. Chuy Garcia, and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, among others who were happy to cross the streams from collaborating with Islamic terrorists to signing the Communist China collaboration letter.

As soon as the China collaboration letter was issued, the Quincy Institute, a project of George Soros, cheered the move which neatly aligned with its campaign warning against any confrontation with the Communist regime while claiming that the true threat is the climate.

At times the collaboration letter of the China appeasement caucus reads like it came out of Beijing, particularly when it states, “we hope that you will be able to work with China to fulfill the important commitments previously laid out”. While paying lip service to the "Chinese Communist Party’s numerous problematic and widely condemned...

Asia, Not The US Is The Main Source Of Global Warming

Man Made Global Warming Is Not A Thing, But Under The Totalitarian Left's Own Standards, The U.S. Is Not The Bogeyman They Say It Is...

Soiled Diaper Biden once hoped to attend the October 31 start of the Glasgow U.N. Climate Conference having signed a massive new package of climate-related spending. A New York Times analysis undertaken by Margot Sanger-Katz and Alicia Parlapiano estimated that $675 billion of President Biden’s original $4.7 trillion “Build Back Better” plan would have been earmarked for subsidies and tax credits ostensibly intended to change the world climate. Congressional Democrats did not have the votes for such a mammoth spending spree, and many of them disliked prioritizing green subsidies over social spending during the struggle to cut the bill by nearly $3 trillion.

A few days before his trip to Europe, the President offered a new plan to shrink his $4.7 trillion plan to $1.85 trillion by discarding or gutting many social spending plans in order to leave 30% of the total ($555 billion) for “climate-related” corporate welfare.

As an explanation of Biden’s priorities, The New York Times’ Coral Davenport wrote, “The United States is historically the largest source of the pollution that is heating the planet.” That is precisely the widespread misconception which leads Americans to believe the climatic fate of the entire planet is in our hands if only Congress would throw enough money at it. The trouble is the United States has not been “the largest source” of greenhouse gas emissions since 1950, when Europe overtook it for five decades. In recent decades, the U.S. has accounted for an exceedingly small fraction of worldwide increases in carbon dioxide, and an even smaller share of other greenhouse gases.

The first graph “Annual share of global CO2 emissions” shows the U.S. share of global CO2 emissions has been falling during most postwar decades – recently from 23.9% in 2000 to 14.5% in 2019. Meanwhile, carbon emissions in Asia rose from 35.8% of the global total in 2000 to 55.6% in 2019.

Focusing on carbon dioxide overstates the U.S. share of global greenhouse gas emissions, however, because CO2 accounts for 80% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions but only 65% for the whole world. Non-carbon greenhouse gases far more potent and long-lasting than CO2, such as methane and nitrous oxide, are a much bigger problem outside the U.S.

When all greenhouse gases are included, the World Resources Institute finds “Emissions from the United States contribute only 12.67% to global emissions,” while just five Asian nations –China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia– contribute three times as much –39.2%.

With only a 12.67% share of greenhouse gas emissions, U.S. political promises to...

INSURRECTION? Leftist Mob Storms Department Of Interior Building Over Climate Change (VIDEO)

This week a mob of leftists protesting climate change stormed the Department of the Interior building in DC.

Where are Democrats? Where is the liberal media? Isn’t this worse than Pearl Harbor and 9/11 put together? Or have the rules changed again?

Everything seems to change depending on the politics of who is doing it.

Townhall reports:

So, We’re Just Going to Ignore a Bunch of Green Warriors Who Tried to Storm the Department of the Interior?

It wasn’t the Capitol Building, but another insurrection occurred in Washington DC this week. Based on the liberal media’s rules, this was an attack on our democracy*, our principles, and it should shake us to our core. This isn’t who we are. Was this worse than 9/11? I don’t know. That’s what the establishment media thought of the January 6 riot.

Are these domestic terrorists going to be arrested as well? Will there be a congressional committee to investigate how this heinous attack on our country occurred this week? Probably not. It was left-wingers. It was global warming activists who tried to storm the Department of the Interior building. One officer was injured…

More from the Washington Post:

Police and climate activists clashed Thursday during protests at the Interior Department, with security personnel sustaining “multiple injuries” and one officer being taken to a hospital, agency spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz said.

Climate demonstrators were attempting to occupy the Interior Department, with dozens entering the Stewart Lee Udall Main Interior Building on C Street NW. Those who remained outside clashed with police as they tried to keep the one unlocked door open. At times, protesters attempted to push past the police line.

The protesters were here for People vs. Fossil Fuels, five days of demonstrations by a coalition of groups known as Build Back Fossil Free that has included Indigenous leaders from across the country. The coalition’s name is a nod to President Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda.

Here are some videos:

Will these people be arrested and held in...

Google & YouTube Will Cut Off Ad Money For ‘Climate Change Deniers’

“Don’t be evil” is a phrase commonly used in Google’s company code of conduct, coined by the creator of Gmail Paul Buchheit in the early 2000s. Buchheit said he”wanted something that, once you put it in there, would be hard to take out”, adding that the slogan was “also a bit of a jab at a lot of the other companies, especially our competitors, who at the time, in our opinion, were kind of exploiting the users to some extent.”

It seems pretty self-explanatory, do the right thing. But has Google held true to this goal? Recent news from the big tech giant has brought this question to the forefront, with many wondering if the monopoly is truly a force for good.

A recent report by The Verge on Thursday indicated that Google will no longer allow advertisers, publishers, and YouTube creators to monetize content that “denies the existence of climate change.” The Alphabet Inc. owned company described the policy in a support document on the same day.

“Today, we’re announcing a new monetization policy for Google advertisers, publishers and YouTube creators that will prohibit ads for, and monetization of, content that contradicts well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change,” the Google Ads team said in the document. “This includes content referring to climate change as a hoax or a scam, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming, and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change.”

Google claims it will use a mix of automated intelligence and human reviewers to engage in internet censorship. “When evaluating content against this new policy, we’ll look carefully at the context in which claims are made, differentiating between content that states a false claim as fact, versus content that reports on or discusses that claim,” Google said. Ads will...

US EPA To Become The Environmental Justice Agency.

A new EPA analysis released today shows that the most severe harms from climate change fall disproportionately upon underserved communities who are least able to prepare for, and recover from, heat waves, poor air quality, flooding, and other impacts. EPA’s analysis indicates that racial and ethnic minority communities are particularly vulnerable to the greatest impacts of climate change. Climate Change and Social Vulnerability in the United States: A Focus on Six Impact Sectors is one of the most advanced environmental justice studies to date that looks at how projected climate change impacts may be distributed across the American public.

“The impacts of climate change that we are feeling today, from extreme heat to flooding to severe storms, are expected to get worse, and people least able to prepare and cope are disproportionately exposed,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan “This report punctuates the urgency of equitable action on climate change. With this level of science and data, we can more effectively center EPA’s mission on achieving environmental justice for all.”

EPA’s new, peer-reviewed report shows the degree to which four socially vulnerable populations— defined based on income, educational attainment, race and ethnicity, and age—may be more exposed to the highest impacts of climate change. The report quantifies six types of impacts, including those to health from changes in air quality and extreme temperature, disruptions to weather-exposed workers, and flooding threats to property.

Key findings of the report include:
  • That Black and African American individuals are projected to face higher impacts of climate change for all six impacts analyzed in this report, compared to all other demographic groups. For example, with 2°C (3.6°F) of global warming, Black and African American individuals are:
  • 34% more likely to currently live in areas with the highest projected increases in childhood asthma diagnoses. This rises to 41% under 4°C (7.2°F) of global warming.
  • 40% more likely to currently live in areas with the highest projected increases in extreme temperature related deaths. This rises to 59% under 4°C of global warming.
  • That Hispanics and Latinos have high participation in weather-exposed industries, such as construction and agriculture, which are especially vulnerable to the effects of extreme temperatures. With 2°C (3.6°F) of global warming, Hispanic and Latino individuals are 43% more likely to currently live in areas with the highest projected reductions in labor hours due to extreme temperatures. With regards to transportation, Hispanic and Latino individuals are about 50% more likely to currently live in areas with the highest estimated increases in traffic delays due to increases in coastal flooding.
This significant study represents an important milestone in understanding the future impacts of climate change on different American populations, especially under resourced communities. Due to data and modeling limitations, this study is limited to the contiguous U.S. Future work will enhance both the coverage of other important areas, such as Hawaii and Alaska, and will explore additional impact sectors and measures of social...

Climate scientists prepare to clamp down on the world’s freedoms

We’re still battling the coronavirus tyrants. Now come the climate authoritarians.

More than 200 climate scientists — and that’s “scientists” with an eyeball roll — have gathered to put the final touches on an agreement that will take the lessons learning from the coronavirus, meaning the idea that fear sells and sells well, and apply them to the field of environmental regulation.

The headlines have already started the buzz.

“Climate Scientists Meet As Floods, Fires, Droughts And Heat Waves Batter Countries,” NPR wrote.

The inherent message: Good thing these guys are meeting so they can come up with a way to solve floods, stop fires, and prevent droughts and heat waves.

Actually, they have five.

“There are five future scenarios that scientists are imagining,” NPR wrote. “For example, if humans stop burning coal immediately, it will dramatically reduce the rate of global warming.”

Another?

The benefits of world governance versus sovereignty.

“In one [scenario], world countries work together to develop low-cost, low-carbon technologies and put them into use quickly for everyone,” NPR wrote. “In [another scenario], nationalism surges around the world and governments focus on local energy and food security rather than global economic changes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

The writing on the wall is clear.

This gathering is not so much a chance to bandy about real science and discuss real problems and exchange critically thought-out methods of solving contextually accurate matters.

It’s a gathering to hype a fabricated problem — umm, the weather — and pretend scientists can control a domain that belongs with God by using less-than-accurate computer modeling, also known as best-guessing, and then presenting the findings as fact to justify the clampdown of individual rights, the redistribution of wealth from America to poorer nations and the global bureaucracies and the exchanging of individualism for collectivism, forever more.

It’s a gathering of global bureaucrats bent on using fake science for political and...

While China Plots War, Biden’s Military Goes Woke

Electric cars, critical race theory, and defeatism.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has called for a "new vision" for the military even if no one, including him, can explain what it is. Austin has been touting something he calls "Integrated Deterrence" a buzzword that seems to involve AI, the State Department, and some sort of new way of war. But mostly it means that war is a silly idea and that no one should fight wars.

"The cornerstone of America's defense is still deterrence, ensuring that our adversaries understand the folly of outright conflict," Austin declared in his big Pearl Harbor speech.

The problem, for the last 70 years, is that Americans see war as folly, but our enemies do not. And Austin, who headed up Obama’s disastrous retooling of the Iraq War which turned over half the country to Iran and the other half to ISIS, ought to know that better than anyone else.

There's a massive gap between Patton's "Americans play to win all the time" and Austin's insistence that, "the costs and risks of aggression are out of line with any conceivable benefit."

Iran certainly doesn’t think so and Obama and Austin didn’t give it any reason to think differently.

We end up fighting endless wars because we get into them to deter rather than to defeat the enemy. Our leaders believe wars are a terrible idea, and so they never set out to win one. Instead they stumble into wars and wait around for our enemies to be deterred by our determination to fight them to a stalemate until we give up and go home. And then do it again.

But if the military isn’t for winning, what is it for? Austin’s "Integrated Deterrence" means the military playing second fiddle to the State Department. He argues that the “U.S. military isn’t meant to stand apart, but to buttress U.S. diplomacy” and work with other federal agencies.

Austin already knows to defer to the State Department because he was a member of Secretary of State Blinken’s Pine Island Capital gang whose people now dominate foreign policy.

And integration means Austin serving on Biden's task force to promote labor organizing.

What does any of that have to do with the military? A better question might be what Biden and Austin’s woke new military has to do with the military.

In his 100 days review, Austin claimed that his first priority was sexual assault. While rape and any crime in the military should be dealt with, it sends a ridiculous message to our enemies when that's the top priority of the U.S. defense chief. ”Sexual assault is a problem that plagues us. It is a readiness issue. It is a leadership issue. We're going to lead real change for real results,” Austin ranted. Somehow I doubt China’s military bosses are focusing on crime issues.

After sexual assault there was extremism and vaccine rates: all of which are political priorities.

But Austin came into office defining the coronavirus as our greatest national security challenge. And then declaring global warming to be an “existential threat” that he intended to meet by “electrifying our own vehicle fleets." Because what the military really needs is electric cars that won’t function when the temperature drops or the charging stations are too far away.

The left's ongoing, absurd redefinition of words

A defining characteristic of those on the political left is their ever-shifting language. Nothing is as it seems, and their verbiage is forever changing as people figure out what they stand for. Even the moniker for their movement has transformed from communist to socialist to liberal to progressive and is moving back to socialist. The recent pledge by some liberal news outlets to start pushing the term "climate emergency" in place of the previous environmental fear phrases "climate change," "climate disruption" and "global warming" is another example of their never-ending search for a label that will allow them to accomplish their goals before enough people realize what they are talking about.

Other examples include "common-sense gun laws" (a euphemism for banning guns), "pay their fair share" (increasing taxes) and "affordable health care" (socialized medicine). The left has spent decades devising vague catch phrases that sound great to the uninformed and their willing accomplices in the media, but are simply euphemisms for things they could never get passed if they were honest. For example, the claim of affordable health care is how it became the federal government's business if you use tobacco or have a firearm in your home.

We have seen this all-powerful intrusion on steroids over the past year with governments' COVID measures. The government forbidding you from going to work? The government telling you what items you are allowed to buy at the store? The government ordering you to take medicine? These massive expansions of government power over the smallest details of Americans' lives is exactly the point of broad but vague manipulation of the language of public policy as a means to disguise political power grabs.

Since the change in administration, the left has found its new version of "affordable health care." Every liberal initiative is now promoted under the pretext of "infrastructure." In addition to roads and bridges one would expect in an infrastructure spending bill, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., contends mandatory child care and paid time off work are "infrastructure". Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says revamping America's immigration laws to allow a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens could be considered infrastructure. Other big-government goodies stuffed under the new catch-all phrase "infrastructure" include...

Why Climate Panic Is Unfounded Hysteria

The weather and climate are dynamic and ever-changing. Thus, this hysteria is a giant ploy to deprive people of freedom and liberty instead of providing them with affordable and flexible energy.

China is currently building more coal-fired power plants than the entire U.S. fleet. On Joe Biden’s first day in office, he canceled the Keystone Pipeline to assuage environmentalists who helped get him controversially elected. This means nothing for carbon outputs or emissions since the amount of coal being spewed by China plus what’s under construction is equal to or greater than twenty Keystone Pipeline projects. Add Asia, India, Poland, Germany, Japan, and coal-user behemoth—India—into the coal-for-electricity-mix, and canceling western pipelines, decarbonizing, or promising an all-electric transportation future means nothing to lower emissions.

Faux solutions such as hydrogen gas, which is attempting to defy physics, thermodynamics, and economics “would make hydrogen gas produced using heavily subsidized wind and solar the most expensive energy in human history,” says Professor Ian Plimer, professor emeritus of earth sciences at the University of Melbourne, professor of mining geology at the University of Adelaide, and the director of multiple mineral exploration and mining companies.

What the entire climate change, global warming, renewables over fossil fuels and electrify society movement is really about is one thing—money—clean energy is now worth trillions of taxpayer dollars. Government-sponsored science and economic growth at its worst picking clean energy over fossil fuels and internal combustion engine vehicles. These are disastrous energy policies.

The existential threat narrative of global warming only solved by destroying global economies by switching to intermittent, expensive renewables over reliable fossil fuels is foolish according to Dr. Steve Koonin, a physicist who served as Undersecretary for Energy during President Barack Obama’s first term.

It’s particularly painful because climate doomsday scenarios are all historically wrong. Climate panic is simply unfounded hysteria. The weather and climate are dynamic and ever-changing. Seemingly, it’s a giant ploy to deprive people of their freedom and liberty rather than provide them with abundant, affordable, reliable, scalable, and flexible energy and electricity resources and...

2021: The Left Is Serious Now

People have called 2020 "The Year of the Mask." I disagree. This past year is clearly the year when the left, media, and big tech dropped their masks and let us know they were no longer going to waste their time trying to convince us. They are going seize this nation, and they care not whether we know it.

A dude with the appellation "Emanuel" quoted Churchill as a means of counseling the left to never allow a crisis to go to waste. But awaiting a crisis to exploit is so 2009. Today, a crisis created is far more effective. The China Flu and all the riots are two prime examples.

COVID may have been accidental (I say "may"), but Democrats sure picked up the ball and ran with it, destroying our economy and people's lives for no nobler a reason than to kill Trump's re-election chances. Leftists do not care about us and are no longer trying to even maintain the pretense that they do. They crossed the Rubicon, deciding that if we must die for them to get and hold power, they can live with it.

They were ecstatic when China deliberately infected the world with its virus. The only problem was, it killed only old people with comorbidities and those who were already sick.

They had to sell it — so they went wild with the pandemic porn.

They joined with media and Big Tech in overstating the danger, classifying almost every death as COVID to hype the number of cases and increase the panic. They then used the contrived fear to seize power and destroy the economy. Along with their minions in media, they blamed it all on Trump, while Big Tech skewed results and censored dissent to prevent people from understanding what was truly happening.

It may be the "Wuhan Virus," but for the "rebel in us," it can more easily be described as the "Anti-Trump Virus" — the disease that allowed the left to cheat just enough to steal an election and prevent the actual will of the people being enforced.

The riots were the same thing but more visual. Just as they did with the deaths from the pandemic, they blamed the violence and destruction on Trump's "hatred, racism, and incompetence."

COVID was perfect. It came along just in time to be an effective weapon against a president who was looking unbeatable, apparently damaging him just enough for the fraud and various other dastardly schemes to effectively steal the election. Sure, the corpulent cutie has yet to sing, as they say, but it looks truer with every passing day.

For Dems, COVID relief and elections are the same: cheat as much as they can as close to the time when it becomes too late for anyone to do anything about it.

Yet there is only so much our erstwhile kings can do to impoverish their subjects before they begin to realize the danger is not quite as dangerous as was claimed and these kings do not have their people's best interests at heart. When the sky does not fall, subjects tend to notice that the sky is not falling. Then you get rebellion.

A new crisis was needed. It is just another stroke of good fortune that the Democrats had another crisis warming up in the bullpen, ready to torture the innocent into submission.

Enter, the fictive President Select, Asterisk Joe, the King of Aphasia, that addle-pated masked man, our very own epigone president, Joooey Biden, who has called "climate change" the biggest threat to not only America, but also the world.

As a means to reorder society, you cannot get much better than "climate change" and its prescribed solution, the mirific Green Raw Deal. Once people accept that it is real, or at least can be forced to obey a new societal regimen as if it were so, it becomes an immediate emergency.

If Americans enjoyed the emergency COVID diktats from our Democrat tyrants, wait until they see the climate lockdowns, where people are not allowed to own a car or drive, gasoline costs $15 a gallon, private air-conditioners are outlawed (for us, not them), and electricity is...

Unwrapping Liberal Hypocrisy for Christmas

Each Christmas for the last twenty or so years I have received a Christmas card from a cousin of mine. She’s a very sweet person who, despite a very humble upbringing, has led a very privileged life. She is in her late fifties and married to a very computer-smart man who works for one of the Big Tech companies. She is from the same small town in Massachusetts where I grew up, and she was raised in an old-school Democrat household, which, though still misguided in the era of JFK and LBJ, was at least still America-loving and patriotic back in those days.

I just received this year’s card. I should note that her Christmas card always contains a two-page, single-spaced synopsis of the year that her family has had... essentially a blog in paper form. If that sounds like a good idea -- a good way of informing family and friends of how things are coming along with you and yours -- then you have obviously never received a Christmas card from my cousin.

The synopsis typically is a non-stop “humble brag,” as a buddy of mine would put it. It’s a way of showing how great things are going for them with just enough faux humility added in to make them appear gracious... barely. This year’s synopsis started out waxing philosophic, and it struck me as a very accurate encapsulation of liberal thinking as a whole; she wrote, “I long for world that puts humanity before lines on a map. I long for a world that admits we’re killing our host. I long for a world alive in the realization that humans, everywhere, are remarkably similar. I long for a world that recognizes an education is about far more than training for a job or vocations...”. It goes on for another line or two, but I think you get the point.

It’s a noxious combination of naïveté, virtue signaling, and simple-minded shortsightedness; essentially, the essence of liberalism today. I can’t help but break it down.

Line 1: “...a world that puts humanity before lines on a map.” I might point out that the address this card came from is in a wealthy suburb of Seattle, and it prices out on Zillow.com at a cool $1.6 million... or $4,700 per month if you were to try to rent it. I’m wondering if she considers her property lines just “lines on a map.” Perhaps she should take in some of the epidemic of homelessness in the Pacific Northwest. Certainly, she has room for a few dozen tents in her yard.

Line 2: “...a world that admits we’re killing our host.” For one thing, the use of the word “host” would either mean that she believes the Earth welcomed us in as some sort of guest, which is just weird, or that we are some sort of parasite that has embedded itself in the planet, which actually seems more fitting. Of course, she’s making a typical virtue-signaling plea for the world to not only accept climate change (formerly global warming until the data did not fit the narrative) as fact but also to accept that the governments we already know to be horribly corrupt are capable of devising the solution... all while she does nothing about the problem, of course.

Line 3: “...a world that recognizes that an education is about far more than training for a job or vocation.” A) She hasn’t had an actual job since roughly 1995, so... B) she arrogantly assumes that training for a job or vocation is somehow not a valuable pursuit. I’d note here that her mother was a nurse and her father was a union truck driver. I’d wonder what they would have to say about her apparent disdain for the working man.

One of my favorite humans Mike Rowe (see Returning the Favor and Dirty Jobs) has been working especially hard over the last several years to help us remember that “jobs and vocations” are actually not only a great way to make a living and provide for your family (often to the point of great personal wealth), but they are also a critical part of the fabric of our nation. I would opine that any job where one works hard and sweats for a living also contains the makings for one hell of an education; one that doesn’t require six figures worth of student loans to acquire.

The last line of the opening paragraph of my cousin’s diatribe talks about a world that seeks solutions not blame, friends instead of foes. I remember seeing many a post of hers over the last four years that specifically blamed President Trump for nearly every woe the world was experiencing, and that specifically named President Trump as their foe.

My cousin’s way of thinking seems to me to be a perfect illustration of the general thought process of the Left at large; borders are mean (but don’t let any of those people on my property); let’s put the same people who allowed alleged climate change to become a problem (long-time politicians, like Sleepy Joe, for instance) be in charge of fixing said problem; and college is the only way to...

Why Do Hysterical Warmists Hate The Scientific Method?

When Global Warming Cultists say words like "settled science", what they are really saying is: to HELL with The Scientific Method. Why do warmists hate science so much?  The Greek root of skepticism is identified as "skepticos", which means "thoughtful, inquiring."

From an Article entitled: IN SUPPORT OF SKEPTICISM:

For centuries, science has been founded on well-established methods of scientific investigation, which include recognition that "A scientific theory must be tentative and always subject to revision or abandonment in light of facts that are inconsistent with, or falsify, the theory. A theory that is by its own terms dogmatic, absolutist and never subject to revision is not a scientific theory" (Judge William R. Overton, in Science, 1982). Thus, a basic tenet of science is for scientists to posit and test hypotheses and theories. Scientific progress is made by accepting or rejecting hypotheses at specified levels of confidence, thus embodying skepticism in the heart of scientific methodology.
