The 90 Miles Mystery Box: Episode #1550

You have come across a mystery box. But what is inside?
It could be literally anything from the serene to the horrific,
from the beautiful to the repugnant,
from the mysterious to the familiar.

If you decide to open it, you could be disappointed,
you could be inspired, you could be appalled.

This is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended.
You have been warned.

When Evil People Have A Gravy Train, They Don't Care About You, They Care About The Gravy....

..And Then There Are People Who Find The Gravy In The Good Things In Life:

Call this an epiphany
Seein' the same things differently
Maybe mama's prayer caught up with me
Startin' to get it now

If my window to the world is the evening news
Only song I'll sing is gonna be the blues
Maybe happiness is a choice you choose
Startin' to get it now

Got a flatbed Ford and four good tires
Biscuits in the oven, chicken in the fryer
Lights turned on, cable paid
If you asked me, I got it made
If I could hug my kids and kiss my wife
One more day in this crazy life
Take a second to stop and smell the daisies
Everything else is gravy

Let's Go!

She's driving away
With the dim lights on
And she's making a play
She can't go wrong

She never waits too long

She's winding them down
On her clock machine
And she won't give up
'Cause she's seventeen

She's a frozen fire
She's my one desire
And I don't want to hold her down
Don't want to break her crown
When she says

"Let's go"
I like the nightlife baby
She says
I like the nightlife baby
She says
"Let's go"

Tea Party Patriots go local with candidate-training classes for school board, county council races

Tea Party Patriots plan to help conservative candidates win county and municipal elections next year similar to the way the group helped usher in a new class of Republicans in Congress a decade ago.

The grassroots group is teaming with American Majority, a conservative training organization, to offer workshops in seven states between November and February: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin said the training is designed for people running for municipal offices, such as mayors and city officials, and builds upon nationwide backlash against COVID-19 mandates and public school policies.

The classes are organized around a simple message of stopping liberal politics in schools and public health policies that go too far, Ms. Martin said.

“As we watch a full-fledged attack on our freedoms from the local level all the way to the federal level, we simply can’t depend on the current class of politicians to save us,” she said in a statement. “From local school boards allowing — and, in some cases, forcing — our children to learn about anti-American concepts to city councils, mayors, and governors forcing mandates on the population that are a direct violation of...

This holiday season the Salvation Army wants a donation — and a 'sincere apology' for white racism

With a new discussion guide titled "Let's Talk About ... Racism," the venerable Christian relief organization has succumbed to the inflammatory tenets of critical race theory and 'antiracism.'"

As Americans head out on Black Friday to make a dent in their holiday shopping lists, some are sure to come across Salvation Army volunteers ringing bells as part of the annual Red Kettle campaign. But this year, the global charitable organization wants more from its donors than a donation to the needy during the holidays. With the dissemination of a recent Salvation Army guide titled "Let's Talk About ... Racism," the Christian organization is attempting to elicit "sincere" apologies from white people for being racist.

The guide, which was compiled and approved earlier this year by the International Social Justice Commission of the Salvation Army, aligns the organization with the ideology of the Black Lives Matter, antiracism, and critical race theory movements.

Defining "structural racism" as "the overarching system of racial biasing across institutions and society," the guide declares: "These systems give privileges to White people resulting in disadvantages to People Of Color."

What was once an organization with a straightforward charitable goal, for which it has received millions in U.S. government funding, appears to have become a proponent of controversial ideas including those found in the books of Ibram Kendi (whose given name is Henry Rogers) and Robin DiAngelo, both of whom are listed in the guide under the Resources, Tools and Contributors section. Also featured in that section of the guide is the New York Times' 1619 podcast, which has become the basis of some high school and collegiate instruction on critical race theory.

Between 2014-2021, the Salvation Army received in the ballpark of $10 million from CSOSA, a federal agency that supervises adults on probation, parole, and supervised release in the District of Columbia. The federal agency's mission is to "support the fair administration of justice in close collaboration with...

Afghan Interpreter Resettled in America Shot After Attempting Knife Attack on Police

A former Afghan interpreter resettled in California by the federal government was shot and killed last week after charging San Francisco police with a butcher knife and chanting “Allahu akbar.”

In bodycam and surveillance footage, 41-year old Ajmal Amani can be seen rushing two police officers with a knife at a residential hotel in south San Francisco. The Afghan citizen can be clearly heard yelling the Islamist phrase in the bodycam, a development that suggests a terrorist motive in the attack.

Watch footage of the shooting here, which occurred after hotel guests and employees reported being threatened by Amani with the knife. One officer fired a non-lethal weapon at the charging Amani, before his partner fired four rounds from a firearm at the imminent threat.

“As Mr. Amani closed the distance, officer 1 and officer 2 fired their respective weapons, striking Mr. Amani. Mr. Amani fell to the ground with the knife nearby him,” a San Francisco Police Department spokesman said of the shooting.

Amani’s lawyers have described the man as a former interpreter employed by the American military in Afghanistan. Amani was provided resettlement privileges in the United States at some point prior to 2019, facing criminal charges for stabbing a park ranger in California that year.

San Francisco public defender Scott Grant is describing Amani as mentally ill from effects of PTSD, although his religiously charged language before attacking the police officers suggest that the incident may have been more than temporary insanity.

Some estimates count as many as millions of War on Terrorism veterans as suffering from PTSD, but veterans of the armed services are unlikely to engage in violent crime as seen in the case of...
