Whose Side Are You On?

I never understood the leftist vitriolic hate towards Israel. Israel is their ancestral homeland and has been before any other monotheistic religion existed.  This land belongs to the people that made the desert bloom.

It was Canaanite land first. I am not "left wing" but it is pretty simple why I hate Israel. It isn't because of religion. It is because the US government puts the interests of Israel before the interests of the United States. It is because AIPAC has more to do with American policy than the American people do. It is because we have sent billions in welfare to Israel since the 1960s. It is because of the Americans murdered on the USS Liberty. It is because of the terrorism that founded Israel. (See the Stern Gang) It is because dual citizens of Israel have joined the US government and put the interests of the US behind those of Israel. We should not have any dual citizens, be they Canadian, Israeli, Irish or Outer Mongolian. I hate Israel because Israel is bad for America.

Israel is an enemy of the Islamic world (being essentially the pointy end of the western world spear because of proximity); the Islamic world intends to overrun the western world; leftists hate the western world that educated and coddled them but doesn't give them the power and respect they think they deserve. The leftists give little thought to the certainty that the Islamic world will not hesitate to wipe them out as soon as it becomes convenient.

Israel and the US don't always have the same national interests, but so far as interactions with the Islamic world, they seem pretty parallel. We are fools to let the pro-Islamic propagandists drive us apart.

I don't really care about their ancestral homeland arguments. The history of the world is one of migration and the current inhabitants of Israel have little commonality with those of the past. But they did take it fair and square and have put it to good use since then. They have held it in the face of overwhelming armed aggression. That is more certain a deed than anything Wells Fargo will have in their files.
