The something in his hand are cigarettes. He had one in his hand when the first guy knocked it away before getting knocked out. The second guy had one in his hand before getting knocked out. This guy knows how to throw a serious punch with either hand. Looks like he's had training.

They always say they slipped on something... which they can never find. Plus, going stiff as a board before they go down is a dead giveaway.
