At the very least, what is now known is that early reports by Smollett and his representatives were likely false, including claims the assailants were white, and that they were Trump supporters.
At the time, NAACP President Derrick Johnson linked Trump to the alleged crime, saying the “rise in hate crimes is directly linked to President Donald J. Trump’s racist and xenophobic rhetoric.”

Yep, if Smollett's "attack" is fabricated, he DOES need to be prosecuted for falsifying a police report. Authorities cannot let this "slide" if it turns out this is all a hoax, which is how it's all leaning now.

appearances can be deceiving. he looked way too good for someone to have been his face whipped with a two by four. knowing one or two chicago hoods(who get very emotional when discomfited), if they had in fact been standing out in the cold waiting for him to show up, they would have beaten him to a bloody pulp and at least stove in his ribs for making them wait in the cold.
