Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently criticizedDemocratic presidential candidates for pushing mandatory assault weapon buybacks, while also taking Walmart to task for its anti-gun measures.
Carlson believes Walmart is pandering to the “activist left” after the retail giant announced earlier this week that it would scale back ammo sales and no longer let customers openly carry firearms in its stores. This was spurred by recent mass shootings that have taken place in the last month.
Carlson commented:
Walmart, after having destroyed American retail and made this country much uglier, and empowered the fascist government of China, has a lot of brass lecturing the rest of us about anything at all. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.The Fox host also pointed out why Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke’s “propagandist” demands for mandatory assault weapon buybacks was nonsense.
“Americans didn’t buy their guns from the government in the first place. They’re not buying them back. This is gun confiscation,” Carlson stated.
By describing Democrat’s buyback policies as “confiscation”, Tucker understands the political ramifications of these policies.
Tucker told his guest, Democratic strategist Bernard Whitman, about the potential threat of supporting mandatory buyback policies. “What you’re calling for is civil war. What you are calling for is an incitement to violence,” stated Carlson.
Carlson thinks Democrats are using recent mass shootings to make a “power grab” to expand America’s already intrusive gun control laws at the federal level.
The Fox News host concluded, “It’s not a sincere effort to make this a safer country, which I would welcome. I think mass shootings are horrifying.
