Walking through forests of palm tree apartments
Scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
Down by the waterhole, drunk every Friday
Eating their nuts, saving their raisins for Sunday
Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows
They're fast but they're lazy, and sleep in green meadows
Well, let's bungle in the jungle
Well, that's all right by me, yeah
Well, I'm a tiger when I want love
But I'm a snake if we disagree
So There Is Was A Young Teenager Listening To AFRTS Radio And The Wolfman Jack Radio Show.
I Had My Trusty Boombox Ready To Record Good Songs On The Cassette Recorder.
Bungle In The Jungle Comes On, I Press Play+Record.
The Song Plays, The Roar Of The Lions Come On And The Monkeys Squeak And Squawk.
I Made A Mixtape Of My Favorite Tunes, And Played That Cassette Over And Over.
I Eventually Got A Job And Had Enough Money To Buy Albums To Play On My Stereo System That I Bought Piece By Piece As I Could Afford it.
One Of The Albums I Bought MU - The Best Of Jethro Tull.
I Brought It Home, Played It, And To My Surprise, On Bungle In The Jungle, There Are No Monkeys Squeaking And Squawking After The Lions Roar...
It Did Not Sound Right.
I Later Came To Realize That Wolfman Jack Added Those Monkey Sound Effects And I Had Recorded It On My Cassette And For Years I Thought It Was Part Of The Original Song...
It Was Better With The Monkeys....

Yeah; I didn't remember any monkeys either. Of course, if you want to hear monkeys now, just watch a BLM rally...
AFRTS--That's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
