‘No one is woke enough’: Dave Chappelle, Rogan slam SNL, defend Musk, ‘one of most brilliant men that’s ever lived’





















Comedian Dave Chappelle took a not-so-veiled shot at the woke culture for not being “woke enough” while commenting on Elon Musk hosting Saturday Night Live — turns out, the billionaire’s appearance reportedly irked some of the ensemble cast members and prompted backlash from some fans.

At the same time, Musk’s SNL hosting debut created a rare buzz around the iconic show, and Chappelle had a hard time understanding the reaction while discussing the issue during a wide-ranging interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast uploaded on Friday.

Rogan said those complaining “want someone to be 100 percent compliant to whatever ideology they’re a part of.”

“No one is woke enough,” Rogan remarked. “They can’t appreciate the fact that you’re dealing with one of the most brilliant men that’s ever lived that’s gonna come do your show.”

“Like you said, no one can be woke enough,” Chappelle agreed. “I’m torn, because I like a warrior for a good cause, but I’m really into tactics. You’re not gonna nag people into behaving … In fact, if you continue with this tone, even if you’re right, you’ll be very hard to hear.”

Speaking of his experiences, the comedian described the Tesla CEO as “incredibly kind.”

“I teased him about being the richest man on earth, and he took it with good humor,” Chappelle explained. “What’s funny, I had hung out with him years ago, after I quit ‘Chappelle’s Show’ … We hung out on a tour bus, and he says to me that night … ‘I met you before.’ I’m like, ‘Well, I have no recollection.’ He looked kinda hurt.”

Musk became only the second billionaire CEO to ever host SNL, the other being now former President Donald Trump. The only other billionaire was George Steinbrenner, the late owner of the New York Yankees, who hosted the show in 1990.

On Saturday night’s show, Musk brought along his mother and the two cracked wise about the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which has been pushed by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and others, resulting in a plunge in value of over 30 percent, per online investment trackers.

During the show’s “Weekend Update” segment, Musk would reluctantly agree that Dogecoin was a “hustle” — jokingly — after repeated questioning on what it is — the irony being that the meme-inspired cryptocurrency surged in value ahead of Musk’s appearance, in anticipation of...
