Technically to be a pony soldier he would have to be in the Armor (tanks branch of service which wears Crossed Sabers) he is Wearing Crossed rifles of the Infantry branch. As a Former Infantryman he he a disgrace to the Army and if he did this BS in a combat zone he would have been fragged or set up (I would personally salute his sorry ass at every opportunity in a combat zone) especially every time he was outside the wire.
